Star scanned the area and smiled.

“There’s…a whole patch of purple there…” she pointed in the direction of the violet flecks dotting her vision.

“Maybe they are flowers…just maybe.”

“Yes… Yes they are…!”

He nodded and lead Star towards the place where she pointed.

“Yep! I guess you can see the bright purple of these flowers. I can… well.. only see the green grass around it…”

“Th-they are?” Star breathed.

“It has been so long since I last saw a flower…”

Eiden leant down and picked a flower. He slowly brought it up to Star, allowing her to see it clearly.

Eiden then sighed happily “I am seeing the prettiest flower of them all right now…” He said as he dreamily stared at Star.

"Huh? Y-you can see the flower?" Star said. taken aback.

The pop of a lid was heard, followed by a waft of sweet, sugary scent.

“It does smell deli- thanks,” Star said as the spoon was gently pressed in her hand.

Eiden scooted next to Star, leaving the bucket of ice cream right between them. He scooped a big chunk of ice cream and waited for Star to do so too.

“Alright, let’s see what this flavour tastes like. I think I will like it…!”

“Okay…”

Star felt around for the bucket.

Eiden helped Star around the bucket to be able to feel and make herself an idea of how it was layed out in front of her. He helped her guiding her hands and allowing her to feel.

Her finger skimmed what seemed to be a smooth, curved object. Something wet and slightly sticky stayed on.

"Thanks...again," she said as her spoon dug into the creamy contents in the bucket.

We’ve had 15 inkredible Splatfests so far! While the good times in Inkopolis will continue to roll on, the next Splatfest will be… drumroll, please… the final Splatfest.

Time and time again, we’ve heard you pledge allegiance not to your favorite team choice, but to your favorite Squid Sister. Now, it’s time to show your support in the Squid Sisters Showdown! The theme is: Are you Team Callie or Team Marie?

The showdown begins at 2 AM PT on Friday, July 22, until 2 AM PT on Sunday, July 24. This will be the last Splatfest extravaganza, and we’d like everyone to have a blast!

The last Splatfest will be taking place (almost) at the same time in all regions. However the matchups will be different – the players in Japan will be matched up with those in Japan, and the players in North America and Europe will be matched up with each other. The Top 100 Players will also be tallied and announced separately for Japan region and for North America and Europe regions. Though the results will be collected from all regions, they will be combined together and announced at  the same time.

In-game announcement and voting will start at 7 PM PT on Monday, July 4. Until then, please prepare yourself for the hardest decision you’ll make in your lifetime by doing some soul searching, going on a walkabout, meditating or just reading Squid Sisters fan fiction.

“Howdy Star!” Jesse called out as he walks towards his friend. He felt happy seeing her again. After all, they haven’t met each other since the Splatfest, so it was actually surprising for Jesse to see her again. “My, you look lovely today!” He complimented her.

“D-do I?” Star blushed. She wasn’t wearing anything special at all, just her usual squid girl dress. “Thanks…”

“The pleasure is all mine, little buddy!” Jesse replied with a bright grin across his face. It felt like he was a bit too ecstatic to see her again, in which would explain the sudden praise from him. “Anyways, it’s nice to see ya again! How’s things?”

“It’s nice to see-”

“I-I mean hear you too,” Star said quickly.

“I’m fine and all, how ‘bout you?”

“I’m happy as usual!” He answered joyfully. “Especially that we both got to meet each other again.”

A smile curls at the corner of her lips. She was glad she got to meet Jesse again, too.

“So uh…”

“What shall we do now?”

“I thought ‘bout we both hang out…” he said, gently placing his hand on the girl’s shoulder. “…like how friends do.”

“Friends…” Star sighed happily. “Sure, let’s…hang out!”

“Alright!” He remarked joyfully after Star accepted his offer to hangout. “So, where do ya wanna hangout at?”

Star thought.

"How about you surprise me? I trust you," she said, grinning cheekily.

Final Splatfest merchandise announced

Editmode have announced a number of Final Splatfest merchandise including the above Callie, Marie and Festival t-shirts all at ¥4,900 each and shipping in early September. Also releasing are four coloured Squid baseball caps (¥5,800 each) and a box set of 24 x 38mm Splatoon themed badges (¥6,912). Pictures of the hats and badges added below!
