Things could change, of course, but at this time they are pretty much planning on leaving it behind. This does not bode well for renewal news.
We need to show NBC that we want to keep this show on the air.

I'm so sad to learn that Hannibal might not have a panel at SDCC this year. I sacrificed so much to be able to go and to learn that it might be for not. *sad sigh* Im going to tweet like crazy to make it happen!!!
Yes, this is a good idea and if it gets picked up for season 3 this might change. The person who gave us that information would very much not like their identity to be revealed as it was a private communication so please tweet on behalf of season 3, but let's not make this the focus of the campaign. It was shared to express the urgency of getting the show renewed.

Time for us to ramp out our game. We need to boost rating NOW.
How do you do that?
- Find someone with a Nielsen Box and have them watch the show live. If you don’t have a Nielsen Box, your live viewing doesn’t really count. It’s unfortunate, but true. It’s estimated that only about .0004% of the US population has a Nielsen Box, so if you have one or you know someone who does you need to be sure that it’s being used to watch the show live every week.
- Watch it on Hulu or the NBC website. Even without a Nielsen Box, watching it through these two locations helps ratings. For someone who doesn’t have a box, this is even more important than watching live. Watch it a few times. Watch it from a few different computers. If you are outside of the US you can download Hola or MediaHint to unlock the content.
- Tweet about it using the hashtag #Hannibal. While this doesn’t affect ratings in the traditional sense, it is definitely something that networks and advertisers are starting to take into consideration. In the hours leading up to the show, during the live east coast broadcast, and during the hours after the show Tweet about it and help make it trend.
In your free time today please WRITE A LETTER to the network and let them know how much the show means to you! Writing a letter is cheap! All it takes is postage or up to a few dollars, depending on how much work you're putting into the thing that you are sending. It has a HUGE IMPACT.

True, but I personally feel that a more focused campaign would have a stronger impact. This campaign isn't about me, though, so if people think all ideas are good and want to do all of it, then we definitely can.

I looked—they’re stupidly expensive fresh. Custom wedding item type things. I guess fake ones are the way to go! Etsy has plenty… But maybe not enough since no one’s really mass-manufacturing flower crowns……
Fake ears are nice and simple and identifiable, but I’m also sort of worried it would just focus on the disturbing aspects of the show and remind the network what a hard sell it is for a big audience? The showrunners would think it’s awesome but NBC isn’t run by Bryan Fuller. Then again, I’m not NBC either so maybe that’s just worrying too much and the point is a unified gesture that’s easy to make.
I wonder if there’s an item that would express Will’s catchphrase of “This is my design”?
Reblogging for more ideas. I agree that ears would be funny if the show runners were our audience, but it might be disturbing to the network. Fake flower crowns might work as well. Someone else suggested perhaps all drawing terrible clocks WIll Graham style and sending those in. So we have three ideas so far.
Fake ears
- CON: Possibly too disturbing to network heads.
- PRO: Fits the funny moment from the episode where the ear fell out of the envelope.
Flower crowns
- CON: Expensive fresh.
- CON: Network might not understand the connection
- PRO: Cheaper if fake.
- PRO: Positive and upbeat.
Drawn Clocks
- CON: Possibly not as impactful as an actual item.
- PRO: Cheap to make and mail.

I vote for ears. Not real, of course! Made from modelling clay, a printed cutout or a Halloween gadget would be fine. The more artistic, the better!
I even found some ear jewelry. Those would be quite easy to replicate with the use of modelling clay + some paint, or 3D printing if someone is lucky enough to have an access:
