due to unforeseen circumstances I spent my savings. now I need to raise $500 for my rent by January 21st. all I can do is draw your character carefully and pleasantly.

I updated the price and added a halfbody position.

I will be very very very thankful for repost 💔

Sorry to bring up an old post, but what do conformation and performance hypertypes look like in silkens? How do I avoid them if I look at breeders? Or is it a pedigree problem and not people?

My comment regarding hypertyping phenotypes in conformation lines was more about the general dog fancy itself and not silkens, such as more skin, more angulation, more coat, tremendous reach and drive and the such. I suppose some phenotypes I'm starting to see in silkens are more rear angles like show whippets, and an extremely sweepy topline to fake the appearance of an arch of the loin. It's not yet a huge problem in silkens yet imo.

In comparison, my comment made towards hypertyping performance lines were in reference to some silken breeding programs. It's less the appearance of the dogs, but more the behavior of the dogs used in those breeding programs. I am seeing silkens either with, or has a pedigree with human bite histories, histories of fouling and getting disqualified in LGRA and ASFA being used and linebred upon. All for the sake of speed. I just came back from SilkenFest, and one of these dogs fouled/attacked another dog at the end of the course. His half-sister fouled in LGRA last year as well. It's a pattern that keeps happening yet the appeal of getting #1 or Top 10 is too attractive to some people. You can check the LGRA and NOTRA grading guide for the dogs who have fouled (the column for DQ Career), and ASFA keeps a public DQ list as well.

A caveat is that not all dogs who fouls are officially listed as sometimes we do not have enough foul judges to make the call, or the judge didn't see it. We had what I'd say was 3 fouls in ASFA and 1 in LGRA at the silken Nationals, and only 2 fouls in ASFA were noted. Speaking to other competitors and breeders are your best bet, as I am still learning which dogs are questionable.
