Tsumiki jumped at the sound of someone shouting, looking around in confusion to try and figure out where it was coming from. By the time she had turned to find the source, though, the nurse gasped a bit as a body collided with hers and both went sprawling onto the floor.

"O-ow…" she grunted as she rubbed the back of her head, feeling a small bump beginning to form. "O-oh! A-are you a-alright?!" she called out to the other who had fallen to the ground with her. "I-I’m terribly sorry! I should have b-been paying more attention!" She rushed to the girl’s side, eyes darting to see if there was any immediate, noticeable damage to her. "Please l-let me take you t-to the nurse’s office so we c-can make sure you’re alright." she pleaded, wanting to make sure she took care of the trouble she had caused the poor girl.

"Hm…" She’d look around herself later. Well, later meaning after her wrist healed…

"No reason. I, um…" Mirai’s uninjured hand slipped off her glasses and cleaned them hurriedly on her jacket. "J-just asking! I thought I h-heard of some weird occurences. Around here. And stuff." She said a bit shakily.

"Ah w-well I’m actually the w-worst person to ask about any r-rumors floating around the school." she laughed a bit nervously as she gave some final adjustments to the brace. "I don’t r-really have many people t-to talk to here so I never u-usually hear about much that’s been going on until m-much, much later."

Though it did make her a little curious about what was supposedly going on. “If it’s not too much t-trouble, may I ask what I s-should be looking out for? That way I c-can try to find you in case I might e-encounter something strange.”

"I don't think you should search for anything..." Mirai muttered, almost inaudible. "N-not to be rude, I just, uh...I was just wondering if..." She rubbed her glasses again. "If anyone else had heard of, uh, strange happenings. Nothing really worth searching for."

"No, it really was hurt badly before," Mirai said. Waiting for the nurse to fetch her supplies, the Spirit Warrior suddenly remembered what she’d come to this area for in the first place.

"Um, Tsumiki, you haven’t seen any…weird behavior around here, have you? In other students?"

Tsumiki blinked in confusion at the unusual question directed at her as she came back with a brace and ice. “I-I don’t really believe that I have. I mean s-some students are rather strange but t-that’s never been something I considered t-that weird for a school like this. All of us are s-so different from each other after all.”

"Is there a reason w-why you ask?" she asked as she carefully assisted Mirai with putting on and adjusting the brace to fit her properly.

"Hm..." She'd look around herself later. Well, later meaning after her wrist healed...

(I haven’t said a word and all these Psyche Locks show up! What gives?)

Feeling someone staring at her, Mirai turned to the blue-suited man.

"Um, do you need anything?" She shivered. Why was he looking at her…

Blinking curiously, Mirai nodded. She wouldn’t let this man get too invasive.

"I’m Mirai Kuriyama. Um, I don’t mind."

"W-well, okay then…"

"For starters, can you tell me of your surname? Kuriyama…it’s not that common, is it? I sure haven’t heard of it until now…"

"Ah," Mirai shouldn't have said her full name. "P-people say that a lot. It's not common, no...I can't tell you about it. Sorry," She wasn't going to say anything else on it. Mirai hadn't expected the blue-suited man to strike a nerve so soon...

Mirai winced. She’d have to find another job while her wrist healed…fighting with sprained parts wasn’t a good idea, she was sensible enough to know that. “Alright. Thank you, Tsumiki.” Why did the nurse sound so guilty?

"It’s not your fault, you know."

The nurse sheepishly glanced away. “B-but…I’m sure that our f-fall might have caused it. I-I know that there’s not r-real way of telling s-since you said that it hurt b-beforehand. Though…our c-collision probably didn’t help matters.”

"Ah! S-sorry! Instead of rambling I-I should be getting you some i-ice and aspirin to help bring down the s-swelling and pain!" she quickly added as she jumped up to fetch said items.

What was this kid's problem? It's not like she'd expected to end up here, what with all the freaky youmu stuff she'd been caught up in before she appeared in the...what'd he call it? Future Foundation.

Following the blue haired boy, she wondered what made him behave that way. He looked like he would probably be in elementary school, but he acted like an adult...he even carried a weapon.

"How unpleasant..." She said under her breath. "Ah, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the Future Foundation?"

Wait, youmu didn’t use weapons. Oops. Mirai halted mid-charge.

"I-I’m sorry! I thought you were a youmu, but…" She allowed her blade to melt, feeling a wave of exhaustion hit her as the anemia came into effect. So he was just a kid? She felt bad for charging him like that,...

Sitting herself lightly on the stool, Mirai rolled up her long sleeve, looking at her swollen wrist. Ugh, she really should’ve gotten this looked at sooner. It ached with every movement.  ”Ouch…” she rubbed it sorely. It was probably sprained or something…

image

Taking a seat in another stool beside the girl, it didn’t take her long to notice a few signs of swelling before she gently took a hold of the wrist. Even if she could tell it was swollen she did want to thoroughly check the area over to make sure she didn’t miss anything.

"It s-seems it’s sprained a d-decent bit." she explained in a slightly guilty voice, feeling completely responsible for it happening. "Let me g-get you some ice to h-help bring the swelling down. Then I’ll show you h-how to wrap your wrist to prevent any p-possible further damage, and will help control the pain a-a little too.

Starters Just In Time For Halloween!

"Did you hear that noise upstairs? I thought we were alone..."
"Stop calling! This isn't funny anymore!"
"You said a person bit you? Out of the blue??"
"The killer's behind you!"
"Shit. Are those fangs?"
"Hold on a minute... you can see me? But... nobody can see me."
"You're telling me that you bit me, and now I'm going to be a vampire?"
"Hey... I don't feel so good. One of them scratched me... You don't think..."
"I should've told you sooner... I'm infected."
"Please don't kill me! I'll do anything!"
"Why are your clothes torn up? And why are you covered in blood?"
"Is that blood on your hands?"
"If you're standing over there... then whose hand is on my shoulder?"
"We're surrounded by zombies... any way out?"
"If you're gonna get us out of it, you better do it fast!"
"You mean I'll never get to see the sun rise again?"
"Let me see the sun rise just one last time... It'll be my last."
"Run! Go without me! I'll be fine!"
"Hey. Stay with me. You'll be okay. Just keep your eyes open."
"He/She/They went that way! Don't follow! Stay with me!"
"But werewolves/zombies/vampires/ghosts don't exist!"
"You're telling me you're a witch/warlock?!"
"What's in this stuff?"
"I heard a noise. Should we check it out?"
