Note: This page looks very different from the others as this was done in Gimp, whilst the following pages were done in Krita.

I'm a huge Dungeons and Dragons nerd. Currently I play in two campaigns (going back to that whole 'huge nerd' thing) and this chick up there is my Goliath Fighter. Her name is Gaia. And I'm not very good at coming up with original names, apparently

I thought it would be fun (and educational, on my part) to continue practicing my tonal values and tonal ranges. This was done with a mechanical pencil (.7 lead), a kneaded eraser, a 6B heavy lead pencil and blending stumps. Some slight editing done in Photoshop

Also, I'll figure out something to do about her damn hair....

As the semester went on, I found myself having some trouble getting my schoolwork done as well as the strip. So, I had a bright idea to make some filler comics, in case I can't make my deadline due to homework or just me being lazy. I would make these strips in advance just in case, but since I had no real deadline for these, I thought I'd try and show off and make them look all nice and detailed.

These strips were simple 'advice' columns given by two characters I use when I do editorial cartoons for the paper (guess I never mentioned that). This is one of the terrible twosome. His name is Gary and he is a possum; he's also a womanizer and 'playboy' (and by that I mean he chases girls and gets a nice kick in the daddybags)

I've had trouble trying to get Cole's hair properly colored, so I think I'm going to make it a flat grey tone. I had to do something since she doesn't have black hair like Leila and Izzy

Also, this is the first strip where I decided to stop blending Leila's skin tone before scanning it into Photoshop. I decided just to give her a flat tone in Photoshop, it made editing errors on her flesh easier.

In this strip Cole asks a question I'm sure Leila has heard many a time.

In this strip we find Izzy's one true weakness...

Izzy gets in some trouble and needs Leila to bail her out. This is not the first time...

The introduction of Mizuki 'Izzy' Tanazaki, Leila's roommate and BFF. She's a music student and hates hipsters.

They say that when you make a character, a piece of yourself is embedded into them. Izzy aquired my burning hatred of hipsters and their stupid faces.

The introduction of Cole, the love interest. 

I like the cherub guys, and Cole's comment about the professor, although I'm about 100% sure no one got that joke.

My editor was fine with this level of storytelling. What does she know anyway? I mean she's only my boss...
