A report by the United Nations stated that one million species are on the brink of extinction. On behalf of @onemilliononemonth Iā€™m pleased to be a species ambassador for Siempreviva de Guelgue,Ā an endemic plant species of Tenerife in the Canary islands. Apparently, there are only 160 specimens of these plants left. ā€Øā€ØThis non-profit art project sees 30 international guest artistā€™s help raise awareness by drawing one species per day. You can get involved too, by drawing your own interpretation of this species (or one of the many others) tag #onemilliononemonth #1m1mvol3 to get shared on their page. Head over there to check out all the beautiful work! šŸŒæ (at Teneriffe, Spain.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CP_GEdVBFCo/?utm_medium=tumblr

In my home Iā€™ve framed this series of six etchings based on Platoā€™s Symposium. I made these back in 2013 and the imagery draws inspiration from Greek mythology, and early ideas on love from notable figures including the philosopher Socrates, and comic playwright Aristophanes. For the first time ever Iā€™ll be releasing a limited edition run of these etchings. Generating ideas for editorial artworks in my sketchbook often look like this. The seed of an early idea, conveyed in short-hand gestures of line almost like taking notes, the aim being to get an idea onto paper rapidly before moving onto the next. You can swipe along to see the final artwork which was for @nytimes āœšŸ» (at The New York Times) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPKo4MrhvwT/?utm_medium=tumblr

A collection of Arthropodā€™s from my camera roll, the first huge one was found on a hike in Nagano in Japan! The spider was spotted on Naoshima art island, also in Japan. The rest were seen in Wales, and England and also in my studio! šŸ¦‹šŸ•·šŸŖ² (at Japan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPC_SKwBilL/?utm_medium=tumblr
