Isn’t it beautiful? All your life you let people in and they break you or burn you and so you let go, lick your wounds, and start again. And on and on this goes until, one day, you meet someone so fantastically unlike all the others, you forget there was anyone else.

the funniest thing imo about Fyre Festival is that it straight up ended up being like a more pathetic Lord of the Flies-type scenario like literally all the “danger” and “chaos” came from all these rich ppl stealing water and food and each others tents and setting fires like they dont fucking know how to handle a single night of what’s basically how a huge portion of the world’s population lives everyday so they riot or some shit

the idea of being right-handed or left-handed is so fucked up. like how in the hell is it evolutionarily advantageous to have one hand that’s good at everything and one that’s fucking useless. why aren’t we all dead.

It’s way too late for this, but it’s important to note that NASA didn’t discover the new earth-like planets. It was a group of astronomers lead by a dude name Michaël Gillon from the University of Liège in Belgium. Giving NASA credit for this gives the United States credit for something they didn’t do, and we already have a problem with making things about ourselves so. just like…be mindful. I’d be pissed if I discovered a small solar system and credit was wrongfully given to someone else.

This is valid. NASA’s involvement in this was predominantly in the use of of Spitzer data to validate findings from a primarily European funded program (TRAPPIST). There were Americans (or at least, an American) on the team, but beyond it being a collaborative and data-sharing arrangement this isn’t primarily an Agency achievement.

I’m here for the Belgians in the tags and also…totally didn’t know trappist was the name of a beer, I fucking love learning shit on my own posts.

OH MY GOD YOU GO BELGIUM

Hey, as far as that post asking about the movie term for casually showing something that will be important later, I'm not aware of a MOVIE specific term off the top of my head, but the storytelling term is foreshadowing, if that helps.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for!

hey guys, can you help me with a movie term? I absolutely forgot how it’s called

when you shoot something, like in a series or a tv show, and you show a scene, for example a close up of something, or saying something, that is of no importance for now but you know that this thing will come in play later in the plot

Example: in a movie, there’s a shot of weapons hanging on the wall, just added to the movie plot, and later those weapons become a murder weapon, thus kind of predicting it, setting it up for the viewers, in a way that “this shot is there because of the reason you’ll know later”

anyone?

@youcallthatakisssweetheart Do you maybe mean foreshadowing?
