“I told you, this isn’t up for debate.” Eyes narrowed at the redhead, knowing the point of contention was always ready to rear its head in the lazy discussions that peppered their time together.
“Megallica’s third album is WAY better than their fifth.”
Since Yusuke’s first death, Keiko has never told anyone to “go die”. She holds a lot of regret and guilt for those being the last words said to her childhood friend, and with how precious life is she refuses to let those words slip out unless the person truly deserves it.

Idiot. Her fingers squeezed the cotton swab hard as hands lowered to her lap. As much as she wanted to smack him upside the head for hurting himself again, for acting macho and refusing to let her do what little she could do to make him heal faster, she knew it would be childish.
Instead, she pushed closer, wrestling him into a bully headlock. She was no where as strong as Kuwabara, but the brunette hoped the physicality was enough to throw him off for a few beats while she finished. A few more swipes of the alcohol soaked cotton-- ignoring the fuss, of course --and she was done, and he was free.
“Let me do my job next time,” she chided, a slight pout on her features.

A fit of giggles bubbled from with her, hands unable to hold back the laughter. It’s not often that Keiko allowed herself to be overcome by childishness, but the sight before her was enough to throw all maturity to the wind. “I’ve never seen something so ridiculous!”

To, what, ruin the moment? There was always some crisis, even in the lulls of their world. Nothing was ever truly still with Yusuke, and as much as (she assumed) he was trying to mask it, he was doing a horrid job. Off he would run, some flimsy excuse thrown her way.
The fear he would disappear without a word lingered in the back of her mind, a phantom in her peripheral that only showed itself in moments after he would jog off. It ate at Keiko, the fact that not-so-deep down she still doubted him returning when he gave her no reason to.
“I always find a way.”
The moments she caught him looking at her with a softness reserved for only her, the phone conversations that lasted longer than she knew he liked… He did always find a way to make it up to her for the chaos around her.
“Yeah,” she answered, voice soft. “You do.”
“A fella’s gotta try though.”
“A-Are you sure you can handle it?” The thought of Kuwabara risking his safety yet again sent a shiver down her spine. How many times had she seen the poor redhead battered and broken? He deserved this bit of quiet after all he had done to save others, and yet… The boys would never stop risking their lives for others, would they?
“It’s a pretty tall tree, Kuwabara. I’m sure the fire department can get Eikichi down if you just let me call them–”
