i do not at all mean this in a perjorative manner, but i do think it’s important to be able to consume a piece of media and go, “i’m not the audience for this” and be able to just walk away 

there doesn’t have to be something wrong or “problematic” about something for a person to not like it. personal taste is personal taste. but something not doing it for you doesn’t mean it automatically has to be wrong or bad. it’s just not for you.

There’s been several times when I’ve watched a thing and been like, they clearly did what they intended to do, and did it well, and I don’t want any part of it. This is a high quality and deeply unpleasant piece of art.

Well

Here I am, again. The journey so far has been wild. I haven’t been on often, and in fact probably will not be on for another while longer after this. But just know that, to whomever sees this and whomever doesn’t, you’re loved. And you’re fantastic. And somewhere someday, you may find your tribe; that group of people however small or large it is, they’ll come to you and you’ll come to them, and you will belong like you’ve never belonged before. Maybe you found that. Maybe you’re already there. That is fantastic. I congratulate you, and wish everyone well.

Please be kind to yourself and if you can’t, let others do that for you. Be kind to others and if you can’t, admit it to yourself and maybe even them. Sometimes we all just need introversion. Thank you all for being, thank you for trying. You got this. While no one is perfect, you’re the best you that you can be, at the moment and we will forgive ourselves and others for not being better when we need it. 

I hope with all my heart that you do great things. They do not have to be grand, but they may be great. Touch a life, mend a soul, be a friend. Shine.

So this is really awesome! These are Disney princesses reimagined as disabled and drawn with service dogs. The artist, Arien Smith, drew these in 2017, but they have become viral only recently. Arien features all types of dogs in his portrayals as a way to educate about disabilities and service animals. He also does other dog related art. Arien can be found on Facebook under Royal Service Dogs or the major barkana. Hopefully more artists, or, you know, actual major film/tv/book creators begin to incorporate disabilities and service animals rather than pretending like they don’t exist (but that’s a different rant for a different day, 🙃).

Image descriptions: Disney princesses Cinderella, rapunzelle, tiana, sleeping beauty, belle, Snow White, and Pocahontas featured with various disabilities and service dogs of various breeds assisting them in daily lives. The last image in of a Facebook post that features the same pictures, but as line drawings, so they can be colored in.
