Some good news in the midst of all this chaos.

Queen shit
You’re all sadistic.
They were going to harm the animals. The animals harmed them instead. I don’t particularly feel sympathetic to animal abusers getting what they deserve.
People being eaten alive isn’t a good thing. Even when the likelihood is that they were desperate and poor.
They were illegally hunting a vulnerable species to sell either as fur or as exotic pets, and the tables were turned on them. Poachers are bad people. Full stop.
“Illegally” legality isn’t relevant
“The tables were turned on them” we don’t know whether they were starving or well off or in poverty or rich. The article doesn’t know. The likelihood is that they were poor.
“Poachers are bad people” nobody is arguing about the morality of poaching
bro not to interject but if you contribute to a leading cause in species extinction you deserve to be eaten alive. idc how desperate you are an entire ecosystem (potentially, if the loss of one species in an area has that huge an effect) is unfortunately much more important than youll ever be.
also, dont defend people where literally all you know is that they died. you are just imagining a scenario where this unforgivably evil person has some kind of reason to recieve any sympathy.
you’re assuming they were poor. a majority of poachers are just like the rich taints you see in cartoons. they make millions off that shit. poachers are bad people. full stop.
I know I am. “Majority” is incorrect as there are a wide variety of people involved in poaching. However, the rich people are usually the ones behind the scenes smuggling the products from one place to another and/or paying the hunters on the ground for their work. There is also the possibility of this being them hunting for food.
The article doesn’t state who they are because they don’t know. But do you really think we wouldn’t know if a rich person had died? We don’t know likely because they were relatively unknown or poor. “Unforgivably evil” is an extremely dangerous perspective to have on this as we have no idea who these people were.
Very few people “deserve” to be eaten alive. That’s a sadistic look at a complicated issue that even conservationists will agree with me on. Boiling this down to an evil person doing an evil thing is a simplistic and frankly privileged view of the situation. I am not stating poaching is good. I am stating that being happy about people being eaten alive is not a good look, particularly in an instance where we do not know who they were.
Poaching may be a douche move but I’m happier to let lions go extinct than waste human lives
^Thats got to be some of the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. You’d rather let an ENTIRE SPECIES go extinct than let some piece of shit poachers die? It’s not “wasting human lives” when they brought it upon themselves. They deserves what happened to them. Maybe this will be a lesson to other poachers to just stay home and mind their business. They didnt HAVE any business trying to murder a nearly extinct species. Yet here is northdakotawhateverthefuck and the last dude trying to act like an endangered species is not IMMENSELY more important to the planet and their ecosystem than a few stupid humans who couldn’t help themselves and NOT attempt an ILLEGAL poaching. There’s a reason not many people give a fuck they died and it’s because poachers are inherently evil and complete dangers to the planet. There’s no way around that. I’ve honestly never been so pissed off at hearing something so recklessly stupid.
Reblogging because a) well done lions, and b) that last comment is perfect. Human life is no more sacred than any other life & believing so has led to unspeakable cruelty.
