Free Spirit

I got to go out and take pictures with Hannah today, and my goodness was it an adventure.

We drove around for almost more than 45 minutes just trying to get to this one location, and by the time we got there - I was angry that it wasn't the location that I had originally wanted/planned to go too.

We started off going straight into the little woods that they had at this Japanese garden, and I was like, "alright Hannah! Can you do some twirls?" and thats how we got this image. She twirled throughout most of that little forest.

We then found ourselves taking pictures on some log, and noticed that this man... had been not only following us, but was staring at us as I took pictures of Hannah. Just standing a good distance away, and then (as Hannah claims), the guy was getting even closer!!!

We started to freak out a little, but tried to hide it to the best of our ability. I handed my phone to Hannah and asked her to text James letting him know what was up - just in case. He started getting closer and closer, and I decided we needed to not be in this woods, where the general public couldn't see anything, so instead of following the trail back to the end - we made a quick shortcut through the woods.

We calmed down a bit and started taking more pictures - in the general public, but also somewhat near the woods so that we could have a little of a woodsy feel. Soon - we heard cracks from the tree branches getting louder and closer, so again, we decided to move.

We never saw the guy or heard him again. Thank goodness. But all in all - we didn't let the guy get us down. Sure we didn't get to spend as much time in the woods as we would have liked, but God kept His watch on us, and gave us a quick sense of judgement!

Thank you Lord for keeping Hannah and I safe today.

I'm going to be honest with you.

This is probably one of my most favorite images that I've taken in awhile. Why? I love the uniqueness that the flower has.I love the dark tones, mixed with the light tones. I love the bokah in the image.

I also love how God has created such a unique flower, and in its uniqueness - it's beautiful. Just like each and every one of us. While others may think its some weird flower that just sits there all day - God took the time to create it, and He knows it to be beautiful. We are created in the Image of God - we are beautiful! Each and every one of us. We aren't just some flower, or plant, we are human beings that have the opportunity to carry the breath that God has given to us daily.

He loves us, and He wants us to use that breath, and our beautiful bodies that He's made for us, and go share this wonderful news. To share it with women who've lost hope, with children who don't know of this hope, and to everyone - even ourselves as Christians. All because, God loves us, and thinks each and every one of us is unique and beautiful.

OUR WORLD NEEDS A BIG HUG!

I have the greatest friends in the world who extend from those whom I know personally to those with whom I work with. Being a part of Walk the Same has been an incredible experience for me because I have come to know some amazingly beautiful people from all over the world and I can positively tell you right now that even though we may not be physically close to one another, we are definitely connected.

But how?

Each of my lovely colleagues are different in their own beautiful ways. They come from different backgrounds, possess different personalities and they have so many unique stories that set them apart. Regardless of all these differences… yes! We are still connected.

But how?

No matter the differences each of us may have, we all have something in common that connects us together and that is “love”.

For each of us, we feel love differently. What I mean by that is if I were to go out on the street right now and ask a bunch of people to tell me what love means to them, it is very likely that I will get different responses. Although it is true that love has many faces and comes in different shapes, colors and sizes, I do not intend to explore the science behind this four letter word in this post., but rather my hope is to help you understand what Love truly means in the most purest of forms….

Love,

Such a great article by Elle. I went to the local conservatory here, and was able to capture this image for her :) Glad it was put to use!

Oh Johnny.

It’s been crazy growing up with you. 1 more year until we are out of youth group, and it’s a little heart wrenching. Most of the kids in youth group think of us as the parents of the group - since we are a family. And honestly, that’s what it feels like. We’ve gotten to see all these kids after us grow up, and we’ve gotten to help shape them into who they are today. My buddie in crime, my trampoline jumper, and my buddie who finally paid for his own dinner!

Definitely glad I was able to capture him as he was playing. Definitely a great picture of Johnny.
