Ok so still into this. ^^'' Here's a sketch dump of some doodles. That paid option in the cave in Asra's route... Totally worth it. One of my fav scenes.

Oh look, I've been poisoned by yet another game. Why is it always the white haired ones that lure me in? Yea this magician cast some sort of spell coz heaven help me I love this soft boy-even if he is so hard to draw. T__T This messy doodle is based on a 'relatabledoodles' comic I came across and thought it fit.

So I stumbled upon the messenger type game LoveLink after completing the finale of Mystic Messenger and having withdrawal symptoms. LoveLink is... interesting ^^’’’.  ANYHOooo here’s a quick redraw of the character Min-Jae, and one of the selfies he sends you.

Sketch practice~  used characters from the anime/manga ‘Kuutei dragons’ to slowly get back into drawing again. This may be an obscure choice, but it was one of my favourite shows to have had the priviledge of working on~

Shattered into a million little pieces of crumbs…I was born on the planet of bread crumbs…I think that’s why my heart’s turned into bread crumbs…

Time to revive things here with some old art! (No surprise there lol) I did this a while back for a 707 dedicated Mysme fanzine.  The piece was based on the ‘bread crumbs’ phone conversation.

I made a thing! I was thinking about this for a few days - because I realized that when I was young, I was also frustrated about being given the same advice over and over - without really knowing what it meant!!

Here’s 5 techniques which I have done before which have helped me grow as an artist, which are good for 5-minute warmups or just straight up challenges for your sketchbook! 

Obviously, these are not the ONLY techniques - they’re just the ones I find most fun! And maybe they’re not the most ‘correct’ ones out there, but it’s better than another comic about practicing more, right?

i’m gonna drop an art tip here

i think an important thing to learn, especially if you start out with drawing anime, is that faces don’t necessarily have to narrow from top to bottom

i like to think of wide top, wide middle, wide bottom, and rectangle-like as the 4 main face shapes

what you should keep in mind about them:

  • you’re only halfway done: the jawlines, the width-length ratio, the amount of fat in the cheeks, the intensity or subtlety of the face’s curves are all important components you still have to decide on after choosing the shape itself
  • none of these shapes are exclusively feminine or masculine, don’t hesitate drawing them on any gender
  • most people in real life have some variation of the wide middle type
  • if you are trying to draw real people, getting the shape of their face down is the first step
  • i’ve seen tutorials say the shape of the face can tell a lot of the character’s personality - you don’t necessarily have to live by that rule. as long as you aren’t unrealistically drastic about their proportions, their face shape determines their inner qualities as much as it would in real life (not at all)
