midnight romances

Syaoran waited patiently for a familiar howl as he wrote his report about the eastern territory he visited days ago. He finally came back to the kingdom after days of trekking and sleepless nights. As a prince of a huge nation – not to mention the youngest candidate for the throne, as well – the responsibilities on his shoulders were way too heavy for him to carry at such an age. The pressure was intense and expectations were high. Sometimes, he thinks that he could go crazy anytime, but then he remembers Princess Sakura’s existence and everything becomes fine – as cheesy as it may sound, but it was the truth.

The darkness of the night embraced the moon through thick clouds that hid the celestial body behind it. Stars looked like specs of dust that spread throughout the sky, filling the dark canvass with silver and gold. Some people were already deep into their dreams while the palace guards were busy trying to keep themselves awake as they performed their duties in keeping the royal places safe and sound.

“Akashi Seijuurou! You’re scaring the people!” you chided as you sent looks of apology to the men threatened by Akashi’s death glare.
“It’s what they get for staring at you too much,” he calmly answered, not getting why you’re just letting these men glue their eyes on you. “You are my date, (f/n). They do not have he right to look at you so intently.”
“Sei, I’m pretty sure some of them just wanted to greet me. They’re my friends, too, you know?”
“Well, they can greet you on Monday before class starts.”
His reasoning made you roll your eyes. You knew Akashi always had a side like this and you just hated it whenever it shows. It’s as if half of his brain stops functioning for a while as his sense of reason vanishes into thin air. A pain in the ass, it has always been.
“Akashi Seijuurou, they’re just being friendly, okay? No need to kill them by your tormenting gazes, I swear.”
“But—”
“Akashi Seijuurou! I swear to God, one more rude stare and you’ll be date-less this night!”
“Your offer is quite unreasonable, (f/n).”
“You’re the unreasonable one, Sei! Oh my—”
“Okay then. I’ll stop, but in return, trying getting back your cool. We still haven’t been on the dance floor, remember?” he smiled, standing up from his seat before offering a hand to you. “Can I have this dance, (f/n)?”
…and as if the little argument didn’t exist at all the moment you started swaying to the mellow music filling the hall, Akashi’s arms around your waist. The distress immediately evaporated as your mind focused on how beautiful the moment you’re in now.

“Daiki, I swear to God! If you won’t be here in two minutes, you need to look for a new prom date! Gosh, you can really be an asshole at times!” you yelled through the phone, head already throbbing due to all the worrying you’ve done for the past hours.
“Babe, can you make that two minutes five? I mean—”
“Two minutes!” you said firmly. “You told me yesterday that you’d pick me up at quarter to seven! Aomine Daiki, it’s already thirty minutes past eight and the prom had already started an hour and thirty minutes ago! This is my first ever promenade, you know that! I don’t need you to ruin—”
You were interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. You stomped your feet as you marched towards the front door, the heels of your shoes making noise in the process as it gained contact with your wooden floor. You didn’t really need visitors at the moment. However, to your surprise, there was an Aomine in front of you, all sweaty and panting. Only a minute had passed since you’ve given him the threat and yet there he was, trying to catch his breath, a forced smile plastered on his face.
“I totally forgot about your corsage, so I looked for a flower shop. Had a hard time, though. I’m sorry babe. I didn’t mean to ruin this for you.”
After hearing the reason of his tardiness, all your anger sublimed, a soft smile replacing the scowl on your face. He wasn’t really a pure asshole, after all.

The Purge Pt.1 (M) | Hoseok

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
A/N : I got inspired to do this AU because of THIS vine by @onerandomkpop, and I also made an edit for it HERE. I hope you all enjoy!
Genre : Violence/Gore, Angst [more to be added] || Purger!Hoseok
WARNINGS : Language, Graphic Depictions of Violence/Murder, Death/Murder
Word Count : 6,884
Description : The Purge - one day a year for twelve hours all crime is legal, including murder. Jung Hoseok is a purger, someone who is payed by others to kill for them on the day of total carnage. He’s given a list of twelve names every year, but what happens when your name is on it?

Walking through the city a few hours before the inevitable was almost like any other day.

People were still casually walking along the sidewalks that would soon be stained with the blood of men, women, and children. Individuals were still stopping to have conversations with people, who would likely commit heinous crimes such as being the very cause of those deep red stains covering the walk ways. It all on the surface seemed very normal, an average day in the city; but you could see through the façade.

There was a concealed panic behind the friendly demeanor of the shop keepers, who just wanted to get their valuables locked up before the alarm sounded. Those people who were talking casually out on the streets, were antsy and ready for the conversations to end so they could get home with plenty of time to spare. The atmosphere was tense, and anxiety stricken as everyone prepared for the night.

You of course were not immune to these inclinations either. In fact at this very moment you were practically running in the direction of your house. Even though there were hours left until the signaling of the yearly event, you couldn’t shake the anxiety that overwhelmed you at the thought of staying out in the open as people all around you were planning their ways of release.

Release. They always used that word as a way to justify the need for this atrocious occurrence.

If citizens know that there is one day of the year that they can release their demons freely, with no consequences, they will take that day without question. You won’t have to fear walking down the streets three-hundred and sixty-four days a year, because you know you are safe, you know the people around you have released their cravings. It is a necessary evil—no not evil—it is a necessary good to purge one’s innermost desires.”

It’s the same speech every year, telling you the citizens that you should be grateful for this day to cleanse yourselves. Of course this monologue is always spoken by a government official who is immune to the happenings of the night. They don’t know what it’s like, they didn’t have to live in terror once a year that anything could be done to them with no punishment.

March 21st seven p.m. to March 22nd seven a.m., all crime is legal, including murder; it was The Purge.

You both entered the venue, your trembling hands in his. It was your first ever prom and never did you expect that Kise Ryouta would be your first ever prom date. Your heart raced at the thought of it, the uneasy feeling in your stomach being an unnecessary bonus. Your discomfort was pretty evident and it made your date worry as he looked at you, a pout eventually drawn out of his face.
“(l/n)cchi, is everything alright?” he asked, forehead lightly pressed on yours.
“I-It’s just that, the eyes of so many people are on us. It’s making me nervous,” you stammered.
The pout on Kise’s face was soon replaced by one soft smile. In all honesty, it was already enough to lighten up your mood. It was so beautiful and you didn’t blame the other girls - and boys - for envying you. After all, Kise Ryouta was the one who asked you to be his prom date - it actually became the talk of the campus for days.
“It will be fine. This is our night. Let’s make the most out of it!” he beamed as he gave you a comforting squeeze on the hand.
And you didn’t know why, but you just believed in what he said as the both of you made your way to the dance floor before dancing to each and every song the DJ dropped for the night, treating is dance as if it would be your last.
