This blog is currently inactive, but because of a mix-up when I was making my blogs years ago, all of my current follows and likes will still come from this account.

My actual tumblr is @neophaim​, so hmu over there if you’re confused as to why what looks to be a WoW RP blog is following you now!

​That being said, if you’re a long-time follower of this account and are curious as to what’s up with Alastren, my previous pinned post has a summary of what was intended to happen with him during Shadowlands.
Other than that, an alternate version of him lives on in FFXIV’s Crystal DC by the name of Alas’to Dhonmi! I don’t RP these days, but feel free to say hey if you see me around!

Surrounded by flowers at The Circle of Life in Twilight Highlands, party-goers will enjoy countless fireworks, cluster and firework rocket launchers, flares, D.I.S.C.O. machines, and DDR (Dance Dance Darkmoon) dancefloors to light up the night. Free goodies will be available all evening as races from all across Azeroth dance together in this hard-won time of peace.

It’s been a while, partly because I forgot tumblr existed again? Huge shocker for folks who’ve been following this blog for a while, I’m sure. 

I stopped playing WoW not long after Shadowlands dropped, but I figured it’d be good to give a quick update on Alastren and what I had been intended to do with him during Shadowlands.

TLDR: he’s not dead, not exactly? But he’s not on Azeroth right now and doesn’t seem inclined to try to get back. He feels like he really has a purpose now in defending Ardenweald, even if there’s a thread in the back of his mind that feels like he should be worried about something.

Revisiting this a bit now that I’ve completed the covenant campaign on another character, sorting through lore and all that jazz. Might need to touch on some stuff, but I’m mostly having fun and mucking about in an adjacent sandbox. Here are some of the concepts I’ve been toying with!

  • He regained consciousness in the bottom of a pool with the sword that almost-sort-of-killed him in his hands and no memory of his spiraling prior to his not-quite-death or the not-quite-death itself.
  • Being pulled over to the Shadowlands by the Fae did something odd to his memory; he has some vague memories of his life before, but they’re detached and a chunk of them are just gone.
  • His lucky pendant is hidden somewhere in the woods and rediscovering it might help clear up some of the fog. The problem is, he doesn’t realize it’s gone and is not actively searching for it.
  • He may have largely been a civilian in life, but he’s currently acting as a swordsman in the Wyld Hunt. Funnily enough, he’s wielding the same blade that sent him across the veil!
  • While his mortal injury was what triggered his debt, he didn’t actually die—he snapped over before that could happen (which is fortunate since otherwise, he’d be in the Maw). Regardless, since his body came with him, he doesn’t necessarily belong in the Shadowlands... which he is slowly realizing over time.

I’m not entirely sure when/if he’ll fully regain his memories yet, nor exactly how he’s getting out of there, but it’s fun to think about! I’m mostly focusing on PVE content and art right now, but I’m interested in eventually bringing him back with updated info and the like. We’ll see!

I’ve also been doing a fair bit of FFXIV fanart, since the game and the friends I’ve made through it have really helped rekindle my love of drawing again! Please enjoy my catboy, Alas'to, who definitely isn’t yet another iteration of Alastren. My elezen pirate, Foxglove, also made an appearance!
