Chuck nearly rolled his eyes, not surprised by their apparent disinterest. “Neither of them know what I am. You erase it from their memories and ensure that Castiel can get to me whenever you let him out, which will be a lot more often than you do now.”

His eyes slipped closed before he drew them wide again. “When did you attack Sam?” Though it could hardly be said he knew everything the people in his life did, he would have thought he’d have heard that one. At the suggestion of more rest, he tried to push himself forward. “No. No,I should help.”

Chuck laughed, looking a little sheepish as he rubbed the back of his neck. “It was, uh, a couple of years ago. When you got splattered in my kitchen? I…thought Sam and Dean were more angels or something when they turned up later and…well…the plunger was the first thing at hand,” he explained as he gently pushed Cas back onto the sofa. “Will you just sit still?”

"But I should......I need......" several things flew from his head for a few moments as he tried to remember, settling back as he struggled to recall who and where he was. Within moments everything slotted back into place again and he deflated sinking into the chair, wrapping his arms tightly around himself as he turned to glance around the room, that moments ago had terrified him. "I don't think I'm very well, Chuck."

"I don’t think a plunger would do you much help." There was a growl from his stomach and Cas was confused for a moment as to what he should do. He wanted to lie down again or at least lean back but he really really should leave if he intends to protect Chuck from them. Closing his eyes and lowering his head, he let out a groan. "I don’t suppose you have any food to spare?"

"Don’t be so sure, I nearly concussed Sam Winchester with it once," he said mildly, before patting Castiel on the shoulder and standing to gather the groceries up again. "You get some more rest and I’ll fix some dinner." The angel needed all the rest he could get.

Castiel shook his head, his eyes scanning over the room around here and his mind flashed with the image of everything torn asunder with blood everywhere and Chuck gone.

"Nobody’s safe around me. They could come back at any moment and they’ll destroy you." But still he wasn’t leaving, he didn’t have anywhere else to go and he was afraid. From within the vessel Castiel heard them laughing at him, they were messing with his mind, showing him what they wanted to do. "You’re not safe."

"I’ll fight them off with my plunger," he joked, aiming for at least a small smile from the angel, though he wasn’t particularly hopeful. The Leviathan couldn’t hurt him, not really, but Castiel couldn’t know that. He couldn’t tell him the truth.

Rolling their eyes, they shifted and perched against a nearby seat. “There’s al̕w̧a͓̮̻̹͙͇ys a cat͏͓̻̜̪͓͍ͅch.” Their expression was harsh but there was still, as ever, an evil playful gleam to their eyes. “What̙̗͓̠̫ ̭͇̗͙c̸̘o͉̳̬̝͎̫n̤ͅd͓͕̞͉͎͍itions?”

"Firstly, you don’t harm Castiel, or Jimmy," he said firmly; nothing else was more important than that right now. "Use the body as you like, but no harm is to come to either of them, you understand?"

Such la͖̮̫̻̥͎̘͡n̵̲̯̲̟͍g̝̞͢u̠̼̩̝̜̕age.” Though they could not keep the laugh from their voice and let out a horrific cackle which shook their shoulders. “Purgato̘͎̭̬̼̻̪r̲̳͓̼̩͙̱y̹ ̷̖̝͓̖̝̥̻w̙̯͍̺̮̳a҉̮̮̠s a bit….small. Balthazar clenched his jaw tightly but kept his eyes trained on the remnants of his dear friend. Something about the leviathans made his blood boil, but he wasn’t sure whether it was because of the fact that these creatures were pure evil balled up into a poor little vessel, or the fact that they’d simply pushed Castiel aside. He was probably trapped in there with the Leviathans like a caged elephant, probably being poked and prodded and tortured and torn apart inside that terribly small vessel. “You’re going to complain about the space inside of your vessel? Why not take over another poor human than? Leave poor ol’ Jimmy Novak alone for a while.” And give me Castiel back.

Castiel was sat up when he heard Chuck come through the door, a hand held over his stomach, feeling a queasy mixture between ready to empty his stomach and hungrier than he’d been since being struck by Famine.

"I’m here." he croaked. He’d not been up for more than a minute and he still felt drained, but he refused to let himself remain inactive. Things to do. Rights to wrong. No wait….other way round.

Raising the hand from his stomach to his head, he could still feel them swirling within him. Could still feel them poking at him where he was still protecting Jimmy.

"I shouldn’t be here." Though he made no move to leave.

Chuck followed the voice into the living room, setting the shopping down on the floor as he moved to sit on the table to look at Castiel.

"Why’s that?" he asked easily, though his eyes were sweeping over the angel with concern. It was never clear how long he would be allowed control for, so Chuck had to keep an eye out for the Leviathan taking control again. "I mean, I know I’m a bad host, but there’s no need to go rushing off."

Tilting back their head, they gazed with curiosity at the desperation in their creator’s face. It was unusual how attached he seemed to be to this Angel. Still was it this Angel or just a wish to restrain the actions of his most destructive children? Either way, the offer of a compromise was not something they had been given before.

"I’d worked that much out, thank you," he muttered, stalling for time as if hoping that another option might suddenly occur to him, but to no avail. There were a few moments of silence before he spoke again, and now his voice was firmer. "You can stay in there, I won’t try to force you out, but there are…conditions."
