if you’re in a city where college students are occupying their campus in protest for palestine and you want to help, give them food. in an occupation that can last for who knows how long, one of the problems organizers have to consider is how people will be fed.

Yes. Also check with them to make sure what they actually need to reduce food waste. They may need halal and kosher food as well.

My queers, we really need to put the "no men" thing away. Men are not inherently bad. There are queer men. There are questioning men. There's men that are just plain cool. Denying these men a space at our table is not helping - except the TERFs. I just came off the back of reading a transphobe gleeful rant about the need to have pride without men - They of course mean me. This kind of stuff is damaging to me and I really need us all to take a step back and maybe kill this "men dni, men not allowed" stuff. What you mean is "no men who are going to do mean stuff to me." And frankly those men won't give a shit about that kind of boundary.

But I promise you there's a fleet of good honest men who will see that and be sad they're not allowed in your version of queer spaces.

PATRIARCHY is what you hate. Dni Patriarchs.

The TERFs have gotten ahold of this post and are doing a lot to try and dehumanize me or send me death threats because of this. Some of those blogs were children or very close to it. I can't tell you how that horrifies me to see people caught up in a hate movement that obliterates self-examination so young. Those are precious days being stolen from those people. Being trans I know what it's like to lose that time and never get it back.

However it's important to recognise that there's clearly something in this message of tolerance that they don't want to get out, and foolishly by repeatedly reblogging versions of my post, they're actually raising the profile of the original message.

I'm quite weary of getting death threats, let's show them our compassion and unity will always overcome their isolation and hatred.

Reblog this post or any version of it that doesn't have the hateful messages attatched, spread the message further. If they didn't want to be a part of getting this message to see a wider audience then they shouldn't have started fucking with me.

Please reblog and fight fascism with me today!

The way you change your immediate reactions to things is that you catch yourself having an uncharitable/bigoted/overly judgmental thought and you catch it and replace it and then you do that a hundred times a day for your whole life and eventually one day like five years later you realize that you think differently now and you’ll always be working on something but that’s how life goes and that’s fine.

Say you have a bad habit of thinking all other people are stupider than you and want to respect other people’s intelligence more.

So you start paying attention to your immediate first reactions to things. You notice that when other people around you are struggling with a math problem and ask you for help you default to seeing them as annoying and stupid.

Instead of chastising yourself for having that thought, interrogate it. Replace it. Think, why do I assume people with different strengths are dumber than I am? I need help sometimes too. I’m glad they’re comfortable enough with me to ask me for help. I’m glad I’ve got a reputation of being the math guy and can help people with that.

And the first time, perhaps the first few dozen times, it’ll feel disingenuous. The cynicism in your brain will fight it. But in time it’ll become as easy as breathing. First thought, replace thought.

And then one day you don’t need to replace that thought. That might be a month from now or twenty years from now. And it’s annoying to get there. But you do get there.

A woman went viral for being turned down for a next interview for a role, she asks the recruiter what she did wrong, the recruiter tells her they were “concerned about her lack of effort in her appearance.”

She explains she wore a freshly ironed blazer with a collared top. Her nails were painted a professional beige. She got a blowout for her hair, so a professional style. She had on subdued gold earrings.

The only thing she wasn’t wearing was makeup; she states she really doesn’t wear makeup, and only had chapstick on, as her skin is sensitive. Her lawyer mother has already explained she has no legal case against the company for any type of gender-based discrimination.

Just in case anyone wants to ask why feminists still refer to the “pink tax” or rail against more and more elaborate makeup trends being pushed on girls and women.

Women being punished socially for not wearing makeup is still a feminist issue.

Little girls being taught by TikTok at 10 and 12 that they have to have a “beat face” or a “snatched body” to be adequately feminine will go on to become recruiters and HR employees and managers in a decade.

We already know that women who don’t wear makeup are discriminated against in interviews. The next generation of interviewers were raised by Sephora and Ulta; it’s going to get worse, not better, unless there’s a concentrated campaign on breaking the connection between makeup+professionalism.
