everything slows down dulls softens to a hush

the verve of life the horizon’s edge the beating heart

in decline in repose in a cold wilting hour

the memories blur all is forgotten the heart breaks its beat

for silence

be mine

the room tightens around me as you enter, the air brings wave after wave of your precious scent … be mine

my thoughts get tangled like string in a backlash, my heart over-ripens to a squishy slosh … be mine

can art be this lovely, unframed, undrawn unplayed, unimagined so alive … be mine

dare I speak a word, dare I chance an admission or remain in this drowning pool of fantasies … be mine

Happy Valentines Day, my lovelies.

Go check out Mike's writing, you won't be disappointed :)

Otel

Remember that post saying I had some street shots? Well they all sucked and I'm not posting them lol. They were boring and it was incredibly obvious I was uncomfortable in the street mode thing. Plus there weren't many people in them and blah blah blah. Disappointed but not surprised I wasn't happy with how they turned out. Maybe I'll give it another shot next time I'm in Chicago or even in Dublin.  We'll see...so you're gonna get photos of some of the buildings from town instead.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I'm gonna try to stay warm :)

Comfort Zones

So I was out and about on Sunday and had a pretty great day. The plan was to get some shots completely out of my landscape/nature comfort zone. I spent about an hour in the city where I currently live. It was once the "it" place to be, back when my mom was a kid, but fell on hard times a couple decades ago.

But the city has been on the upswing recently.  So I took some shots of some abandoned buildings as well as some of the recently renovated ones (although they still have their old school charm).  I'm really not sure how the photos turned out, I have zero skill at street/urban photography. But I'll post them and maybe you guys and gals can tell me what you think or give me pointers and advice.

I ended up at Lake Michigan (surprise, surprise) and it was super foggy and awesome! And so I risked my life (seriously) and climbed the pier.  I was fun ;)

So some good (and maybe not so good?) stuff to come.  Hope you all enjoy your week ;)
