Song: CMYK Artist: James Blake Year: 2010 Why it’s Dope: Beautiful keyboard line that is glossy, clear, and precise, gorgeous samples that are scattered throughout the track in a way that is disorienting, wild, and awe-inspiring, a vivid atmosphere that reaches into your mind and encourages your imagination, and a strong song structure that is progressive, yet steady and hypnotic.

As a young girl growing up in New Glasgow, Keisha Jefferies always knew she wanted to do something to help her Black Nova Scotian community.
After two years working as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at the IWK Health Centre, Jefferies decided to go back to school to pursue graduate studies.
The Dalhousie University PhD student is now conducting research described by one of her thesis supervisors as “groundbreaking.” She’s gathering data to show how the under-representation of Black nurses in health-care settings and leadership roles impacts those nurses and the Black community at large.
“Having an absence of Black nurses in a position where they’re able to influence policy has a negative effect on the Black community itself, and we know this because we see the Black communities with more (people having) poor health compared to the general Canadian population,” Jefferies said in an interview.

i love telling ppl i plan to marry rich and it’s not shallow bc i’m a lesbian so any way i get married is still iconic and revolutionary

us gays and trans ppl get 500 years of trope free passes where we can do anything and tell any story that is trite and boring with straight cis people. every single chick flick, romcom, and action movie in existence can be rewritten featuring us and it’ll be an instant classic, oscar winner, nobel peace prize nominee, that’s just the rules
