so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god

…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment

The only time I cheated on any test was a Spanish quiz on -ar verb endings.

It was 7th grade, I hadn’t studied. I had written the verb endings on an index card, so I wore a sweater with a tank top underneath and balanced the card in my cleavage so I could see it if I put my head down on my desk. I was a chronically sick kid, so I was always putting my head down anyway.

Got an A and the teacher never said anything. However, looking back on it, I believe the teacher knew and chose not to say anything because she liked me. She also protected me from my bully one day. We’d been allowed to choose where we sat. I chose front left and my bully sat down right behind me and whispered “now I can bully you even more now.” I got up, told the teacher (which I hated doing) and she moved the girl to the back right, as far away from me as possible.

(Side note: I actually did memorize the verb endings after that)

Update - Closing my Inbox to requests until further notice

I really didn’t want to have to do this, but I haven’t had much time to write in the midst of being in grad school (and when I do have time, I’ve been too mentally exhausted and also trying to balance family and friends and non-school obligations). I will also be going back to work later this month, so it’s going to be even more difficult. I don’t want to keep more and more requests waiting because I sincerely don’t know when I expect to have a handle on things.
