@/folkoftheshelf on Twitter has made a thread of fundraising links for Gazans. I’ve transferred the links here, please boost them as the conflict is worsening:

im noticing that for a lot of americans “free palestine” has been an ideological motto and symbol rather than them actually believing in their heart that freedom is attainable and necessary
palestinians deserve the right to be able to travel freely in our homeland. to even visit our homeland. for us to have citizenship and rights to our own country. to grow our plants. practice our religions. live without fear that our children can be kidnapped by israeli forces on their violent whims. to not have our life savings poured into building a home for our families that are torn down without real warning by israeli bulldozers. to no longer be refugees. like this is real life. this is real.
we don’t want to be reduced to a never ending slogan. we want to put down our need for resistance. to rest & to live.
So I knew that one of the rules of Wild Mushroom Safety is to cook all wild mushrooms before consumption, but I didn't know quite how vital this was:
And it turns out, scientific literature doesn't know much either. Apparently uncooked morels can be /super/ toxic, and there's not a ton of awareness.
Anyway the Rules of Wild Mushroom Safety as I was taught them:
- ID every specimen you plan to consume.
- Cook.
- Try a little and wait a bit, because people can have allergies to random mushrooms.
- Do not mix with alcohol, adverse reactions can occur.

A 28-year-old motorcyclist died in Washington State on Friday afternoon because a dipshit Tesla driver rear-ended him at speed. A Snohomish man, 56, was commuting in his 2022 Tesla Model S when he activated the car’s camera-based advanced driver assist system and according to his statements to police, began looking through his phone. With nobody paying attention to the car’s actions, the Tesla software ignored Jeffrey Nissen on his motorcycle and continued on at speed. The car rear-ended the two-wheeler, Nissen was flung from the bike, and his life ended pinned underneath the electric car, where he was still lodged when police arrived to the scene.
Tesla claims another life.
Reminder that even if you are personally aware of how dangerous Tesla vehicles are and vow to never ride in one, they can still kill you.
My own driving habits have changed around them. I always give Teslas extra space, avoid following them directly, and expect them to stop or swerve suddenly without notice.
Cannot count the times I've pulled up next to a Tesla at freeway speed, noticed the driver playing on their phone. Tap the horn. They look up with surprise.
Please, don't be that guy.
hope this is okay to add but Jeffrey’s family has created a gofundme to cover funeral expenses and other costs.
the fact that i cannot curl up into a vaguely donut shape with my tail as a pillow is unfathomable cruelty
