i know we all love no children. but where's the love for old college try? no love for like a trash can fire in a prison cell? like the searchlights in the parking lots of hell? i will walk down to the end with you? does if you will walk all the way down with me mean nothing to u???
Wrote a new song today and recorded a demo. Pretty happy with what came out.
Drew a map of a western state
And I mailed it away
Made little marks in pencil
Starred where he'd lain
I could feel the resentment
In the miles of road
Shuttled it through the postal service
Let them take control
Boxing up the trinkets he gathered
Won't keep whats not mine
Ink reads clear beneath packing tape
Handwritten address line
Printer gave it up two weeks before
The project was due
Over stuffed the envelope
Fought the straining glue
Bought new wipers for the Honda
The worker put them in
What else to say when it's offered
"Yeah, I'd appreciate it"
Slept last night in a hotel
In an eastern state
Duffel bag at the foot of the bed
It's not an unpack stay
You’re too old to lose it, too young to choose it And the clock waits so patiently on your song You walk past a cafe but you don’t eat when you’ve lived too long
Demo 2 for album 2 is done. Was gonna be two songs, then I decided to combine it into one song and now it's 7.5 minutes long and it's gonna be the opener. This album will be alienating in a completely different way than Boris Sent Me was.
DOG weezer: beverly hills! thats where chihuahuas be!
I don't post on here too often these days but I put out an album this year and I'm really proud of it. It's a scrappy, noisy indie rock record about death and loss and love and movies and the weather and novelty records. It's called Boris Sent Me and my band is called Felt Lips. 11 songs, 30 minutes, almost exclusively downers, you're gonna love it.
Telepathically sending Jeff Bezos my address demanding he give me $20,000,000
happy birthday woosh
[ID: a photo of john darnielle with his arms crossed. there is a slight pink filter applied, with sparkles edited over him. curly pink text in a top-text bottom-text format reads ‘sparkle on! it’s wednesday! don’t forget to be yourself!’. end ID.]
I love JD's love Sabbath.
here’s why you should vote for Judy Gemstone in this poll going around

Happy 102nd birthday to Al Jaffee, one of the greatest living artists and comedians
I’d love to see a version of Julius Caesar where he takes the beware the Ides of March warning seriously like “oh shit. good heads up man thanks” and he goes into it with his own knife. He calms down a bit when he see’s all his best friends like “yea, the squad is here and everyone is strapped. nice”
Et tu, Brute? Good.
Found this in the comments of Shaun's latest video on Andrew Tate, in which he talks pretty extensively about how important it is for men to find ways to be confident in their genders without trying to adhere to, or enforce, anyone else's ideas of manhood on anyone.
Highly recommend checking it out.
Anyway. I rarely see folks talk about the positive impact transmascs have on manhood as a whole, and I think it's important to acknowledge and celebrate that.
