I don’t think so. I’d like to spend less time online in general. I am trying to prepare for graduate school in the next two years so I am doubling down on my reading (mainly history but I also really love fiction and poetry) and German, since that is where I hope to go for school.

You know, I actually hadn’t heard of him until now, so thanks for bringing him to my attention. Watercolor and pastels are such great mediums–I feel that is underrated :D

Well, unfortunately I had to race through the institute, I greatly underestimated the size of that place, so I was literally running from gallery to gallery before closing time. I really wish I had been able to visit the Byzantine and Islamic Art sections, ahh, I’m kicking myself now!

I really enjoyed the impressionist gallery, of course. I ended up talking with a docent about the giant Caillebotte painting of Haussmann’s famous Parisian boulevard, because it had recently returned to Chicago from the Kimbell in Fort Worth :) He was very pleased to have it back, hehe. And seeing one of my favorite Berthe Morisot paintings there was just wonderful.

I really like how they included architectural details from the city itself inside. Chicago has such an amazing architectural history, I really want to go back when I have a chance.

Opening weekend!!! You’re a brave soul, that must have been so hectic. It was really crowded when I went, and that was two weeks ago.

I feel similarly. I hope he does realize how much his art means to so many people. 🌻

Hello!

I'm afraid this blog is no longer active. I am, at least for awhile, not going to be using tumblr anymore.

I've really enjoyed running this blog and sharing art with all of you. I hope you have enjoyed it, too. I'm going to keep it short and sweet before I get too sentimental. I really have enjoyed having this art blog and having discussions with some of you. I'm going to try to reply to the few messages some of y'all have sent me now.

Anyway, thanks again for sticking with this blog.
