Woah, why did I just get followers on this blog, like I literally just said I'm not going to be using this, guys, what?

Avatar

tl;dr: you're goddamn amazing and follow broodingkatniss :)

As you can probably tell from my blog url, I'm not going to be using this account before. I really want to start over again because the lack of order was agitating me, so I'm moving to broodingkatniss (my old name) for a 100% fandom blog.

I'll be following everyone I was following before, and probably a lot of my old followers too, so yeah.

I just want to quickly say thank you to everyone who's followed me, and put up with me changing opinions every hour or something. You guys probably gave me far less crap then I should have gotten.

Technically, I should give a shout out to so many people because y'all were just amazing, can I tell you that? Unfortunately, I'd then be clogging up your dash. Pretty much, if you think it's you, it's you, and if you don't think it is, then it probably still is. So, keep being amazing. However, I absolutely have to give a shoutout to nevercryandgrowup because they have followed me from literally the beginning and thank you so much.

Ciao and (hopefully) see you later!

1. There’s a reason schools teach Shakespeare instead of John Green; you make your own life, it’s not written in the stars, waiting to start until you find that person with the perfect smile 2. People are a hell of a lot smarter than you think. Shut your mouth, stop thinking you know everything, and listen. 3. Getting close and being vulnerable is scary as hell, But you know what else it is? Worth it. 4. Reason really is the doctor to love. 5. The moment you feel your happiness being dictated by another person, take a break from them. 6. Take a step back and look around, you have more friends than you think. 7. Growing up is going to happen and it’s going to be tough. Just stay close to those around you, you’re all in it together. 8. If you’re still checking their Facebook/Instagram/tumblr, you’re never going to get over them. 9. Everything seems worse in the morning. Don’t fall for it, it’s deceiving. 10. No need to be so intense all the time. People get tired of swimming in the deep end, sometimes they need a break in the shallow part of the pool. 11. Stop avoiding everything. Get out of bed, get dressed, go to school, go to work. It sucks at first but it’s part of the healing process. 12. If the person makes you feel like shit and you still go back to them, it’s an abusive relationship. 13. Headphones are great, but listen to music aloud every once in a while. Sometimes you need to scream a song so everyone can hear you. 14. Boundaries are a must. 15. You can be a caring person, but you need to be happy with yourself before you try to make others happy. 16. Try and understand other’s intentions and situation before you get angry with them. 17. Tough love is necessary sometimes. 18. You can’t fix people no matter how hard you try. Get this engrained in your mind. 19. Surround yourself with people who will love and support you. 20. Loneliness is lethal and makes you have a distorted view of things. 21. No one hates you more than you hate yourself. Stop being your own enemy. 22. Someone can only hurt your feelings if you allow them to. 23. Getting your shit back in order is five times as hard as it is to mess it all up. 24. Listen to your parent’s advice. 25. Be open to anything and everything. Life isn’t fun when you’re a closed book. 26. Talking about your problems is great, but there comes a point when talking about it becomes dwelling on the past and it drains everyone around you. Know when you’ve hit this point. 27. A lot of people don’t like their shit showing. More people than you know are going through hard times. 28. Distract yourself. 29. Don’t be so easily swayed, a lot of claims out there are not true. 30. Some seasons of your life are harder than others. This too shall pass.

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT GUYS! LISTEN UP!

As a paranormal blogger, I’ve heard of some pretty insane cases. But this has got to be ridiculous.

In Kinshasa (a country in the Congo) there are some pretty sick rumors.

  •  Children who strangle parents in their sleep or eat the hearts of their siblings.
  • Children flying through the skies at night, stealing money or deliberately causing illnesses like HIV and polio.

The Congo people call these children “sorcerers” and believe they cause bad luck and do evil things.

What’s the worst part, is that they think that these children should be rejected by their family or shunned by society.

People who have experienced a sudden hardship in their family, such a death or illness, literally will go handpicking a child to blame their problems on.

Can you even believe that? The poor child is accused of something he/she had no logical connection to.

Some of these children are killed, but far more are abandoned.

Or they are dragged to churches, where they may well find further misery.

According to Human Rights Watch, alleged child sorcerers taken to churches may be denied food and water, whipped until they confess, or sexually abused.

In a 2013 report about Congo, the U.S. State Department described “exorcisms of children accused of witchcraft involving isolation, beating and whipping, starvation, and forced ingestion of purgatives.”

Even worse? This problem isn’t just in Congo, it’s slowly on the rise throughout sub-saharan Africa.

I just really wanted to bring attention to this injustice.

why is it every time you post something real, something that needs attention it only gets three notes people suck.

I’ve learned that people only want something for the thrill, very rarely do any of my informative posts explode.

BUT THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT AND IT MAKES ME SICK. SO COME ON GUYS. LET’S GET THIS NOTICED.

It’s the Witch Hunt all over again but instead of just women, it’s now children. This is ridiculous and an outrage. It hurts me more than anything. I weep for humanity, the people’s ignorance of history repeating itself, literally.

Anonymous asked:

What really burns me is that these people have no insight into criminal psychology. A mentally disturbed person who commits acts of racist, sexist, homophobic etc. violence does not do so because society encourages them to, they do it because something in their life made them hate that group of people, or they were just looking for someone to blame for all their problems. Can these unfortunate prejudices in society help inflame someone like this? Yes. Is it the sole cause of their actions? NO.

Exactly; if the pressures of society and ideas of society really were prevalently only these beliefs, then we’d all be running around shooting each other up on a constant basis. Murders and shit do happen daily, but the amount of times they are solely race or gender related are so fuckin miniscule that to argue the whole of society does this is fuckin horrendously moot.

Inb4 “But the lifetime data says…”, yes, the lifetime data that says about a quarter of all men raped in their life were raped in the past year.  Rape culture is redefining rape to hide the fact that about an equal amount of women and men were raped in the previous 12 months to the CDC’s survey.

In the post you’re about to make, replace cis/white/hetero/male people with the Jews and if the result sounds like something that could be straight out of Mein Kampf, you should probably reconsider your social justice blogging habits.

bless this freaking post

Do you know what I am? That’s right a rape survivor. Do you know where I volunteer and what I do? OH That’s right as a counselor for other survivors at a rape and domestic abuse shelter. Do you know what we often do? We often times joke about what happened to us. It gives us comfort and stability and strength to laugh with these other survivors.

We DO NOT sit around reliving the trauma of what happened to us just because we hear a joke or reference to what happened to us. That’s not how most triggers work. For example myself. My trigger is being in the dark, because I was raped at a party when I went upstairs to sleep in my friend’s parents’ room. There are still nights, even now eight years later, where I have to reach over and turn on my booklight in fear, all because my husband, someone I love and trust, brushed against me while we were sleeping. Or take my husband as another example. My husband was used  as a child sex slave and in his aunt’s personal collection of child porn. His trigger is being recorded. As in having pictures taken of him and being filmed. He can, and possibly will, start violently shaking and even start crying if even a picture of his arm is taken. We had to sedate him last year just so he can have an x-ray done on said arm, because he had broke it while making a set for a local playhouse.

Rapists don’t rape because they hear a joke. Rapists rape because of the power and control. These people don’t think “Haha, I heard a joke about rape. Since rape is normal now I’m gonna rape someone.” NO! They think “Here is someone weaker than me, I can take advantage of them through forcing them to perform sexual acts.” These people have the same minds as people who abuse animals and children. There is something wrong with their brain systems.

Really (and I am repeating this until you get it through YOUR DENSE FUCKING SKULLS) the argument that Rape jokes cause Rapes is the same argument of “If a child plays violent videogames or watches violent movies or television, then that child is going to go out and kill some one for the hell of it, because it is now normal for them.” This has been disproven with so many studies, it’s silly now.
