My family and I could have died today. Or at least me. We were driving behind a logging truck and debris was flying everywhere and some of it flew up and then down and hit my side of the windshield. If it had been any bigger or had fallen any faster, I would more than likely be either severely injured or dead and my sister would have gotten hurt as well. The cops would not come to check on the car for proof of an accident report, a man that wasn’t even driving the truck is claiming that nothing flew off of his truck and that they’ve basically never had any issues like this before. They are claiming that it’s my mothers fault and that they must pay for all damages, even though my mom was far enough away from the truck. The debris flew in the air multiple times and after it hit us even more stuff came off the truck again when we had to follow them. This time it went under my moms car and scuffed up stuff. Our windshield is messed up, my parents have to pay for all of the damage caused even though it WAS NOT my mothers fault. All I have to say is, is that life is cruel and unfair. Everyone is safe, but our car is not and we don’t have the money to fix it at all, and our insurance is making them pay $500 for something that they shouldn’t have to pay. The logging company should. They’re lucky that none of us actually got hurt, because if something had happened to me, my sister, or my cousin, my mother probably would have gone nuts. I don’t know what else to say. I’m pissed off but grateful that the windshield didn’t actually break to where the debris could actually hurt anyone. Just the car was harmed.
