“If there’s one thing you can always expect in this school, it’s drama.” Belle         spoke to no one in particular as she approached the lunch line.  Sometimes         people answered, but not often. But most of the time it was just her thoughts         being spoken aloud and the little relief that came from that.  Which was fine         with her, honestly.

“It’s not often people come to me to gossip about someone, non? Please tell         me it’s nothing too degrading, non? I could vent for hours on Gaston, but I do         not want to  hear anything untrue.”  Not  that  she  believed  Ariel  would  say         something that was dishonest. She just had to say that to start with.

“I’m not exactly the best chef, non?  The best things I make are chicken         noodle soup  and  chocolate chip cookies.  I can follow a recipe,  but it’s         nothing spectacular.  You, however...”  She trailed.  There was nothing         more delicieux than the food Ella had given.

Some of the things the French beauty heard in the hallway was beyond          her desire  to know,  and  what  she heard  just now  was no  exception.          Though she certainly hadn’t expected to hear something so vulgar. “Oh          mon dieu. Such filthy mouths in this school.”

Apparently rumors were being spread.  Not surprising  considering this is a school         and they are teenagers.  And humans at that. Inherently they were imperfect and so         things will happen, true or not, and word will get around.  But seeing as she’s always         had rumors spread about her, the brunette wasn’t exactly phased about what’s being         said.  At least not that she let show.  Sometimes it got to her, but, Belle liked to think         she had a  thick skin,  so  she brushed it  off,  even if  it meant sliding  into the library         across from someone who may have said what’s being said about anyone. Even her.         But that  was it.  “Hope you  don’t mind.  Seems this place  is actually almost  at  full         capacity. Strange.”

The only reason Belle was allowed in Riverdell in the first place was her intelligence. Without the scholarship she was given, the girl would never have made it out of her little village ‘til college rather than as a junior in high school. And maybe not even then. So, you can bet, maintaining that level of smarts that for her in is her utmost priority, and she could not care less about most of the clique wars gong on. She’s a nerd because, well, that’s what she is, not because she believes people should fit into constructs and groups that others have made. After all, it doesn’t matter what group your in, you could be just as awful anywhere else as you are now. Or you could be just as good as well. So, of all the people in the school, she is possibly the most disinterested in it all. All she knows is she loves books and so those will be given her attention. Everyone else, well, they’ll be given it when they deserve it. And in that way, she was conceited. The end.

Belle sat in the restaurant reading while she waited for the crepes she’d ordered.        Unfortunately the  cafe had  had a  plethora of  people and  that environment  was        what she  wanted to avoid.  Luckily,  however,  the restaurant  had plenty  of room,        which meant she  ordered her water  with lemon and some breakfast food,  just so        she could not be removed from the premises as she read. Considering she was a        bit tired of  reading in the  library where Gaston  knew where to  find  her,  and  her        room was causing her a good deal of cabin fever.  No this was perfect. At least for        now.
