Anti porn people are so funny because it's always some person with a poorly drawn blorbo icon going. "When I'm horny it's natural and empowering, but if someone from a demographic I'm personally threatened by is horny it's degenerate exploitation and they deserve to die"

Are some sex workers exploited? Absolutely. Is the overconsumption of pornography a bad thing for the psyche? Also yes. However, I think most of these things would be solved with the decriminalization and destimagtization of sex work, and also better sex education and communicative parenting. Puritan level restrictions on pornography and unironically calling everyone a degenerate for consuming it isn't gonna solve shit.

I think it’s funny how Mormon God was like “look polygamy is super important and I am telling you my followers to practice it even in the face of persecution” and then 40 years later Congress said Utah wouldn’t be given statehood as long as the LDS practiced polygamy and Mormon God was like “Ok tell everyone I changed my mind”

I just really like the idea that Mormon God like, basically caved into pressure from the federal government

Don't forget the time Mormon God decided that black people weren't actually demons and were people in the 70s.

"Elderly Palestinian couple looking at their former home, now occupied by a couple from Brooklyn. 🇵🇸" [@/RamAbdu on X. April 4th, 2024.]

Hi! I did fact check this. The article is from 2021, and the photo is an Al Jezeera report from 2020.

In the clip, Al Jazeera reporter Najwan Simri asked the current residents of the home, "How do you feel living in a house built on the wreckage of his house?"
The Jewish woman said she was happy to live in the home and that it was "very enjoyable."
The report does not identify the couple behind the gate, making it impossible to verify the claim that they originate from Brooklyn.
While the photo in the social media posts is not related to the recent violence between Hamas and Israel, it is connected to some of the fundamental issues of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

this is like how people always say “oh this would kill a medieval peasant” girl you strongly underestimate the resilience of these fuckers. they would embrace your challenge with love and curiosity

it’s always “this modern thing would kill a medieval peasant” whereas it should be “this medieval thing would kill the modern gamer”

This argument is 100% correct but I think people who use it like this just aren't aware enough of the current climate change denialist rhetoric to be able to argue against it effectively.

The vast majority of current-day climate change deniers DO recognize that the climate is changing (I mean, they have no option, the effects are observable and glaringly obvious) they just deny that it's manmade or that the fossil fuel industry has anything to do with it, so arguments like this don't really cut it.
