I've been trying to showcase Motel Revivals in between my regular posts. Today's non-dead feature is the Sapphire Motel of Bozeman, Montana. 

Before it was the Sapphire, it began as the Glen Motel in the 1940s, became the Travelier Motel in the 1950s, the Stardust Motel in 1970s and the Royal 7 Motel in the 1980s.

The motel operated as the Royal 7 for the next 40 years, seeing very few changes. By the year 2021, the property had become outdated and was in desperate need of restoration. The lack of upkeep created a unique opportunity in that much of the motel was still original.

When brothers Shiloh and Jake became the new owners, they invested significant time and resources to bring the motel back to its original character. The rooms and lobby showcase mid-century modern furniture, the original neon sign has been restored and the vibe is definitely that of a 1950s motor inn. By the time Shiloh and Jake took over, the motel had been in their family since 1972! Pictured are before and after photos of the sign, lobby and rooms.

it’s funny and all but it’s also an example of how corporations will cheat people in every single possible way they are legally able to get away with if there isn’t any system of regulation to protect consumers.

At the annual Houston RenFest we’d always get one or two furries that walk around and every time the general reaction from the medieval roleplayers is akin to  “BEASTS? BEASTS THAT WALK LIKE MAN? FOUL!” 

Last time I went a furry volunteered for an impromptu conversion/exorcism and a guy dressed as a monk gathered a bunch of people and using a Gatorade bottle performed an entire catholic christening while reading off the instructions on his Ipad. When the furry was fully “converted” he removed the head of his costume and everyone in the crowd pretended to freak out and say shit like “GlORY BE HE IS SAVED” “CHRIST HAS BROKEN HIS CURSE”

What I've learned is that if you're gonna engage in a romantic relationship during your young adult years, it damn well better be someone who makes your insides explode with nothing but positive emotion. Someone who takes the time to be kind, patient, and understanding, more often than not, and who is as warm with their words as they are with their touch. Life is to short. We mind. The right person will love you in a way that makes you feel completely free and accepted within your own skin. They won't attempt to hinder your development out of fear of insecurity that your new experiences might lead you into the arms of someone else. Good lovers will desire to see your personal success just as much as you do, and they will support and respect your decisions. Stay away from people who make you feel guilty about desiring the best for yourself. They don't love you for you, they love you for what you can provide for them. That is not love

secondly, gay and bi men have been fucking all their friends and cruising and hooking up with total strangers since LLOOONGGGG before you were born and will continue doing so LLOOONGGG after you die. it’s never been a trend or a fad for us. It’s just a way of life for some of us and you aren’t going to change that by being disgusted by it
