well as you may have guessed, I am done on Tumblr. I first posted back in 2010 as a freshman who had a rough time making new friends - and Tumblr became a way to connect with people about shared interests. so many people here became true friends, people I went to concerts, music festivals, museums, and bars with IN REAL LIFE. but I'm almost 26 and working my first post grad job, and what I had a sneaking suspicion of when I was in grad school is abundantly clear now: I am a) way too busy to keep up on this sit, and b) way too old to engage with many of the users in a meaningful way. So with that said, I am stepping away and letting the blog be. I'm not deleting bc there are too many funny memories on here that I want to preserve as best as possible. If you're interested in following me, I'm on twitter (bc 140 characters at a time is all I'm really good for) at @rhymeswithvogue or request to follow me on instagram at @emilyehogg. thx for the mmrs Tumblr

HEY, TIP

if you are thin/average size and you have a plus size friend and you’re out shopping with them, it’d be decent of you to say “hey lets go into [store that has plus size clothing]”. that’d just be so fucking decent of you. no plus size person wants to have to say “hey, so sorry to horribly inconvenience you, but can we maybe please hit up 1 store that caters to me after we hit up about 10 that cater to you?” and i’m not saying every fat person is insecure! thats not at all what I’m saying! but young girls especially are very likely to believe that thin=beautiful / fat=disgusting. everyone, no matter your size, has to work hard to dismantle that way of thinking and it’d just be nice if friends looked out for friends like this; something as simple as inclusive shopping experiences that don’t leave people feeling alienated and traumatized :’)
