What was the first Hannigram fic you read?

Mine was “Sea Change” by @xzombiexkittenx and it so perfectly aligned with my own view of the pairing at the time that I thought I’d fallen off a bluff and gone to fic heaven.

I’m going to post this again, because it didn’t work well as a photo to me. A bit of distortion takes place in larger pieces. This time, it’s a scan… fixed a few things. Painter 11, being a 10 year old program looked very digital when I attempted to paint over, so the clone stamp tool on Photoshop worked better.

Eta: Just took a peek on my phone and it’s a completely different colour again! It’s really red! The main colour in the background is burnt sienna which has a orange tinge. ^_^

When they fought together, it was the most beautiful thing. 

Does anyone know of any fics where Hannibal is already locked up and Will has to go to him for input on some killers and such?

They’ve never met until Will (now special agent and using his empathy) needs help solving some cases and the only person to help is Hannibal.

They do their typical canon like things, conversations and such, and grow closer. Will knows he shouldn’t but can’t help it. It’s slow burn until the day they can finally be close enough to even touch hands and it just shakes them both to their cores.

Anything similar to something like this, doesn’t need to be exact or anything close even. (I know I’m being specific but that’s because I crave something like this…)

So a variation to this that’s still the closest thing I can think of is Philia by @gweezle . Hannibal is locked up and Hannibal and Will have never met, but rather than being a special agent Will is a college student assigned to interview Hannibal, and ends up consulting him over various things and solving some cases. They have their conversations and it is slow burn :) although it’s part of a series and the first bit ends on a cliffhanger. It’s wonderful fic I’ve read a few times and definitely recommend.

Here are some farther removed variations that are still very enjoyable, and recommended if you haven’t read them:

Lockdown also by @gweezle . Hannibal is not imprisoned but Will goes to a prison to conduct interviews and encounters him. It’s a quick and fun oneshot. 

Sensates by @starkaryen , which is a Sense8 fusion where Hannibal is imprisoned and Will and Hannibal have never met but are sensates–thus Will ends up visiting Hannibal often in his mind, although he believes he’s having hallucinations at first. Very good, long slow-burn and satisfying fic.

Will wanted to turn his help down, tell him he could walk by himself, but the truth was, he couldn’t. So he leaned on the doctor and the IV stand to go back to the bed, and when he lay down on the mattress, he let out a sigh of relief.

“Thanks…” he said through clenched teeth.

Will looked at his doctor and found a smirk on his lips.

“I thought the nurses were exaggerating when they said you were a hard patient”, he said, and Will huffed a little.
