Our first Florida trunk show was so perfect and magical, we decided to come back for a second one. Can’t wait to see everyone!

When and where will the Florida trunk show be held?

3400 Gulf Blvd St. Petersburg Beach, Florida

8 April 2017

2 to 5:00 o’clock

VIP entry will be at 2:00

General Admission will be at 3:00

When and where will tickets be available?

Tickets will be listed on February 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM  EST.

Will tickets be transferable?

We are unable to transfer tickets at this time. Please email us prior to March 10th to cancel your ticket. See cancellation policy below.

Why aren’t tickets transferable?

With the addition of customizable tickets, we can no longer transfer tickets.

Will names be printed on the tickets and cross checked with identification for entry?

Everyone is checked against our master list at the entrance to the venue. Those not on the list will not be admitted. There is the possibility that we might have tickets available for purchase at the door, but they are not guaranteed.

What time will the event start?

For those with VIP tickets, the event will open at 2:00 pm.

For those with General Admission tickets, the event will open at 3:00 pm

Will there be an after party/evening of celebration?

If Pavotees would like to have an after party / evening of celebration, they are welcome to do so! Unfortunately, we are typically unable to attend as we are obligated to close out the event, take care of inventory, accounting and other routine chores, but we will do our absolute best to make time for our Pavotees after the event. Please don’t think we are ignoring your or don’t want to spend time with you; we’re just trying to close out the show and vacate the venue. Sometimes we have a very limited amount of time to do this.

Will tickets sell out?

Unfortunately, we do not know the answer to this question. Our tickets for Pavo Presents Chicago did not sell out, but our tickets for Pavo Presents Asheville sold out right away!

What will be the exclusive VIP wrap for the Pavo Presents Florida?

The VIPavotee wrap for Florida will be Keshi Coral.

What other items  will be available?

We are currently working on our limited Florida Collection and will provide more information closer to the trunk shows, but think spring!

Are the spaces baby proofed and mobile baby safe?

No. We do our best to make sure that obvious dangers are removed, but much of the time we are not allowed to alter the venue space. Please be aware of your children and keep a close eye on them at all times as you would do in any public space.

Should we bring snacks?

Both events will be catered. You are welcome to bring snacks if you like, but there will be food and drink will be available.

Please be aware that neither the food nor the space are allergen-free. We do our very best to accommodate a wide variety of food preferences, but we might not be able to make changes based on your food requirements. If you have a specific request, please email us no later than February March 15th so that we may try to accommodate your request. Please note that we will be do our absolute best to accommodate requests, but that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.

Does your wrappee have to be worn or may s/he come on the loose?

The ticket price allows entry for the attendee and one wrappee, three years old and younger. You may either wear your wrappee or your child may be mobile. Please be aware of your child's location at all times. The venue at The Don is located outside right on the beach (the area is shaded). Any child over three years of age will need a general admissions ticket for the trunk show.

Will I have to pay sales tax?

Yes. We are required to charge sales tax on all purchases made at the Pavo Presents Florida trunk show. The sales tax for St. Petersburg is 7%

May I purchase more than one VIP ticket if I am buying a ticket for myself and a friend?

If you are buying a ticket for a friend, you should put your friend's name on the ticket during checkout.

I am flying from out of state to attend the trunk show. I’m worried that tickets will sell out. What do I do?

If you are flying in from out of state and all tickets are sold out (all tiers), please contact us at contact@pavotextiles.com so that we may help you out.

I want to come to the trunk show, but all the tickets are sold out. What do I do?

Please email us at contact@pavotextiles.com so that we may help you.

I need to cancel my ticket. What should I do?

Please email us at contact@pavotextiles.com so that we may cancel your ticket. All tickets canceled prior to March 10th will be refunded in full. Tickets canceled after March 10th will be refunded and will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee. Please allow 7-10 business days to process your refund.

Why are there no more VIP tickets available? Why are there no more General Admission tickets available?

We work very hard to ensure that there is a careful balance between VIP and General Admission tickets available. Our capacity is limited by our venue space and that space is limited by availability. If you missed out on buying trunk show tickets, please email us at contact@pavotextiles.com to check for availability. If there are no tickets available, we can place you on the waiting list and notify you when space becomes available.

I see that there are people from out of state attending the trunk show in my state. Do you allow that?

Our trunk shows are open to anyone who is able to attend.

I’m nervous about attending the trunk show. What can I expect?

Historically, trunk shows have been small intimate events that allow a designer to meet and talk with their customers. Our trunk shows have proven to be a bit larger, but Erin and I work very hard to make sure that they still retain an intimate feel. There will be food and drink, mingling, and many fellow Pavotees who can geek out with you about your Pavos. We look forward to meeting everyone! If you are worried about the trunk show experience, join us in Pavo Customer Appreciation, where we and past trunk show attendees can personally answer your questions or feel free to email us if you have any questions.

What are my options for tickets?

Harness Cords Noir is a collaboration between Libby O’Bryan from her project What is it Worth, an examination of the process, product, and consumption of textiles, Bethanne Knudson of The Oriole Mill, and Pavo Textiles.  Harness Cords depicts an essential part of the weaving machine, the cords that raise and lower the hooks threaded with individual warp ends as commanded by the jacquard head.

Harness Cords is notable for its smooth satin side as contrasted with its more textured side.

Introducing...Alli

I am Alli @mikasphotomama a professional photographer and linguist. I have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 10 years.  I am the amma of Annamika (2.5 years old, 26lbs) and Sidhartha (one month old, 9 lbs) and wife and partner-in-crime to Santoash.

I have been wrapping Annamika since she was a month old, and was fortunate to fall in love with Poinsettia Etini, when Annamika was only 3 months old, starting me on an epic journey of Pavo love.

My wrap quality preferences are quite varied, and depend on the size of my wrappee, the carry, the weather, my mood and my very picky toddler’s preference of the moment (for the moment Sidhartha is happy with whatever he goes up in).

I have “favorite wraps” all over the spectrum of gsm, density, stretchiness, etc. However, my favorite carry for my toddler is a Double Hammock TUB, and I prefer a more sturdy, stretchy wrap (diagonal stretch helps me to get a nicer chest pass on my larger chest).

My top Pavos for Toddler DHs are Farrand, Perigee, Sparkleberry, Lofi, Lovebirds (full cotton) and Trillium. For my squish, I prefer a thinner, softer, more moldable and less textured wrap (Form wraps, especially swallowtail and Acanthus have been my go to so far, though my very broken in Perigee and Miel are favorites too!).

Sidhartha is very lucky to have a big sister who is happy to share her wraps and wrapper (me) and has so far only claimed one wrap that he is not allowed to go up in so far, Sparkleberry Geranium, her most favorite wrap.

Santoash, who has mastered the FWCC, Ruck and DH, refuses to geek out with me on wrapping characteristics. He does have a strong preference for the “whitish wrap with white stripes on it” (Miel) because he likes the feeling on his shoulders and how easy it is to tighten.

As someone relatively new to woven wraps I was incredibly honored and bounce off the walls excited to have the opportunity to test 2 wraps off a new loom from The Oriole Mill called Dobbie. When I first saw the red Dobbie I was excited by the vibrant red stripe complimented by a grey and fuchsia blended strip which reads as a violet color a few steps away. Red and violet have always been a favorite of mine and together they worked so well. There is a ton of texture to the weave and it felt very dry in loom state. The wrap is very thin and airy, perfect for warm weather. There is no stretch to this red dobbie, it is solid. It started off at 185 inches long and 26 inches wide. From the texture  and weave I assumed it would shrink up quite a bit and get a crinkled appearance. That did not happen at all. I washed with Vaska on cold delicate, no spin, and tumbled dry on delicate until completely dry. There was absolutely no shrinkage in length and only ½ an inch in width.      On first wrap this was difficult for a novice wrapper. It was so grippy I felt like I really struggled to get everything tight and in the correct place. It was really hard for me to get enough tail for an FCC. Now came the love. I slept on this for a few nights and just carried it with me for almost a week, sitting on it and wrapping with it at every opportunity. It quickly began to soften and become incredibly floppy. By the time I brought it to Disney it was completely broken in. It breathed so well due to the thin and airy weave which reminded me of my Didy. It was perfect for the weather and the colors were perfect for the venue. As I stated, upon breaking it in it was soft, this made it glide well into an FCC, FWCC and I was even able to wrap my 3 year old in a double hammock back carry! The grip helped keep everything in place even after popping my 13 lbs 4 month old in and out of an FCC all day. While this is thin the texture translates into awesome cush on ones shoulders. That was my favorite part. I was able to wear this for 8+ hours and was completely comfortable. It felt great on my shoulders and my back. It really was the perfect wrap for the warm weather (80+ degrees on some days). After a week of intensive wearing it gained 11 inches in length and ½ inch in width. I had nice long tails for my FCC by the end of my trip. Upon washing on delicate with spin and a full dry it shrunk back up to initial washing length of 185 inches and kept its 26 inch width. I can easily still get it in an FCC and have enough tail since it is easily adjustable now that it is so soft. Many people showed interest in this wrap and I was stopped frequently for it to be admired and touched. I hope more have the opportunity to experience it and hope at some point to have it in my stash permanently.    The blue dobbie is somewhat different from the red. It’s substantially wider at 31 ½ inches and a similar length at 184 inches long in loom state. Upon washing with Vaska on cold delicate no spin and drying on delicate cycle until completely dry it did not shrink at all. All measurements stayed the same. It has diagonal stretch which makes it very moldable. The blue dobbie is also thin but not as airy as the red. It has dark blue thin stripes with white fill and alternating turquoise, dark blue and grey threads which create differing blue rectangles. The texture is much flatter than the red but also felt very dry to the touch. With the greater width and dry grippy texture it was a beast at first wearing. Causing me to call it “the beast” upon the first couple wraps. But after lots of love at Disney it quickly became softer and floppier making it easy to get into the above mentioned carries but the grip helped them stay put. My mother who has never wrapped was able to wear this comfortably in a FWCC. I was fortunate to have this on 8+ hour days also and can attest that it has cushy comfort on the shoulders and support for my back much like the red. I have had back issues in the past and at times it didn’t feel like I was even wearing my 13 lbs baby. I actually really liked the extra width since it afforded a deeper seat and more pleats for my shoulders. The blue also gained a lot of length, 10 inches, with wear but shrunk back up with a wash and dry to 183 inches and kept its width measurement. It was a bit warmer than the red due to the tighter weave. My mother who is a furnace did comment she felt too warm on the monorail ride back to the hotel but it really was not an issue for me. This also turned some heads but did not get the same attention as the red. I think that had more to do with the color scheme and the venue than anything else since both in my opinion are very aesthetically pleasing.    Both these Dobbies as before mentioned are extremely comfortable on long days. They are squish and appear from my limited experience to be toddler worthy as well. While the red is better for very hot days the blue is comfortable on warm days. The differences are enough for both the red and blue Dobbies to live in one stash while they excel with their similar wear qualities of cushy comfort.
