Azami: Book of Summer

@azamicomic / azamicomic.tumblr.com

Azami: Book of Summer is the story of a boy who finds family in the Invisible World, a prickly minor kami seeking meaning in a time that is forgetting her, and a love that transcends lifetimes. The free-form nature of this comic is best enjoyed in installments, rather than page-by-page, and will be released free-to-read upon the completion of each installment. Thank you for reading!

Chapter 2 is officially out, now with dialogue!  I wanted to tackle a bit of world building and personality development without being too exposition-y about what I’m implying.  I tried a lot of new things here, so please let me know what you think, and any theories you have!

You can buy this chapter as one REALLY LONG SCROLL for only $15 at MoCCA this weekend!  It rolls up nice and compact for easy storage/transport.  Chapter one will also be on sale as scrolls and card sets!

Support Chapter 3 on Patreon and get great rewards, from high res downloads to live art classes!

The whole comic is actually designed to flow page-to-page along that gold thread.  This is just my favorite part.  I hung it at Otakon as a 6 foot scroll!  I wanted the story to be large and immersive experience such that the reader could really travel along with Mataro.

If you support the comic on Patreon, you can get downloads of the seamless versions of the ENTIRE comic at full resolution, along with a lot of other great rewards, and that incomparable fuzzy feeling you get when you support lgbt art by lgbt artists. ;)

Signal boosts are also wonderful!

Part 2.   Read Part 1 here.  Best viewed on the main page.

It’s finally here!  I’ve wanted to tell this story for a long time.  I hope you can enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed making it. This is just the beginning!

Please reblog and follow @azamicomic to support more Azami stories.  Additionally, you can enjoy some great rewards by directly supporting the stories on Patreon.

Thank you!
