Thanks for the lovely comments last night, guys. As you can tell, I wasn't in a good place. I just thought I was too old (37) to be played by a player, but I guess as we get older, their game just gets better. I feel like kind of an idiot for falling for it, pissed off at him for doing it, as well as really sad that now I know what I'm missing out on by not being in a relationship. I really thought we had potential. I could see him meeting my friends and family eventually, and now I just feel stupid. And sad. Oh well, gotta get back out there right?

Advice please

How do you keep getting hurt, but not harden your heart? Especially after reluctantly letting someone in, only to have them completely ignore you at the worst possible time. All I want is closure, and I haven’t even been given that.

How did the assholes get so good at pretending to be nice guys?

First parkrun ever is in the books!! The girl who invited me to the running group encouraged me to go along, but she wasn't there today as she had another run on. But I put my big girl pants on and went by myself! It was all very well organized and us first timers got a lovely round of applause from the group before we set off. I ran/waked the course. The only rule I gave myself was that every time I ran, I would run for at least a minute. My goal was to get it done in under 40 minutes and I made it! Now I just have to beat today's time next week!

18 months of full time study and full time work finally paid off this week. Officially graduated and no more uni!

Saturday morning cuddles with this one

I took my big, lazy baby for a walk tonight. That's two nights in a row of physical activity. Who am I??!?! It felt great to stretch out my hips and glutes, which were tight after last night's efforts. And Cleo loved it too!! Here she is straight after, cooling off on the hallway floor.

I did a thing! My first run in *forever* But seriously, it's probably been 3 years since I've run. This was more of a run/walk/run/walk/walk/walk/crawl situation, but I got off my bloody ass and did it! The motivation for this run? I was invited to join a running group and I really want to (I desperately need new friends) but I don't want to embarrass myself. As soon as I can do 5k in any capacity, I'm joining them! Oh, and sorry for the absence. I'm going to try and post more regularly again.

Tell me what's been happening while I've been away?

Today I did some doggie transport and picked up Lucky the brindle staffy x from a coordinator and hung out with him till his new foster carer could pick him up, then I met another carer who had picked up Kiki the German shepherd pup from her carer where she wasn't getting along with their other dog, so now she's mine until she finds a forever home! The amount of coordination and dog swapping that goes on to make sure that all dogs are safe and cared for is just phenomenal. And all these people do it for free. The love that you get from these precious pups is so worth it.

There is nothing quite like freshly washed, brand new bedding. I bought the sheets, doona cover and pillow cases this morning and managed to wash them and have them dry within a couple of hours so I could enjoy them tonight. Sweet dreams all!

I found this an interesting perspective on the fat vs sugar debate. Not sure I agree with the entire article, but the last part which talks about foods that combine sugar and fat seems to make sense to me.

Meet foster puppies number two and three!! Cole, on the left is a ridgeback cross and Nicoline on the right is a Great Dane cross. They are getting along great and I feel better knowing they'll have company when I'm at work during the day. Such sweeties but neither of them is neutered so I have to get that done quick smart or we'll have more pups to find homes for!
