Whispers in the Trees

Good evening. My name is Mael. I was once held a revered title among my people in Gaul until I was brought into the life of a blood drinker. Ever since my last attempt at a 'religious experience', I have settled myself with travels and now this interesting ability to communicate. Feel free to speak to me, if that is your desire. About shipping

If my muse has a ship with yours, I will mostly likely:

- like all your posts - use every meme as a lame excuse to make our characters interact  - write drabbles about them - reblog quotes and pictures that remind me of the ship - talk about them in random RPs and asks - swoon every time they talk

I don’t ever expect the same amount of attention in return. I just think it’s pretty awesome that we created love together. That’s pretty damn amazing. It makes me want to brag and show them off like a kid with a loose tooth. I hope that isn’t weird or off-putting, but if it is, I would recommend not doing ships with me.

"You’re making this so much more complicated than it is. It’s not, it’s just very…eh…" He stopped talking to the customer when he saw something out of the corner of his eye. "Hey! Please don’t touch that! I’ll be with you in a moment." He sternly looked over to the other person.

Mael ceased in his movements, not trying to bother this one who was working but not seeing the need to bother the other did as he was told. It did not seem too important an object but best not to let his curiosity get the best of him and damage it. Maybe he should stick to simply looking around for now.

You are awake.

Eric paused his steps down the entry hall and smiled, sensing the awaking presence of the other ancient vampire within the city. He could not wait, booming his voice through the Mind Gift across the city.

It had been some time, Mael.

Things had been for the most part quiet, barring one or two incidences in Mael's life. Thankfully, he had it possibly under control for now. Or so he thought until the loud voice invaded his mind. There was almost a small bit of him that wanted to panic over something he couldn't see yet again and yet...this voice was familiar. Grey eyes scanned the surrounding area, trying to find the owner of the voice when a thought hit him.

Eric?

He had not meant to bother Ellyn and it was obvious there was just a bit of worry at his jesting comment. Crap. He didn’t know what bothered him more: how concerned she could be feeling or how furious his brother will be when he finds out. Mael attempted to shove his worries away while focusing his attention on keeping some form of mental watch of Arzhur’s whereabouts. Mael could sense a sudden tenseness in his brother’s thoughts, surely from the bond that the immortal knew Arzhur and Ellyn both shared but he simply stayed put. Was he trying to communicate with her? The younger Gaul simply did not know.

"Ah, well…you probably won’t have to worry. Arzhur will keep the animals outside long before allowing such a…a ridiculous notion. You know that better than I do," he attempted a smile to try and help her relax again. However, the gesture did not appear to be required when Mael noticed how settled Ellyn was with Ari in her arms. She was a good mother, no doubt a trait Arzhur adored among the others.

"…I know I’m not here often, if at all, but…you know if you need anything, all you have to do is ask. I will assist, even if my brother is against my existence…" His eyes darted for a moment as a sudden thought crossed his mind. "Speaking of you and my sibling, how are the plans for your wedding going?"

Ellyn could tell he was sincere when he apologized—or what was close enough for one. In truth, she had been completely engrossed in keeping her daughter in her lap, even thoguh the infant seemed to protest for a moment before finding her toes and giggling. The fae grinned and nodded then.

"Oh, no, the wolves are allowed in still. They’re actually quite tolerant of her. But, she really has taken to the barn kittens and Ceri—my horse. Of course, my favorite reactions that she garners are from your brother. I get so wrapped up in enjoying them that I don’t’ even bother to remember to take pictures…I’ll have to work on that." She glanced down to her daughter, watching the little one wriggle around.

The fae listened to him and smiled brightly. “Thank you for the offer, Mael. If the need should arise, I will not hesitate to call you….” When he asked about the wedding, she shrugged. “I really had not put much more thought into it…I think that taking care of Ari has dwarfed nearly everything else…Though, I won’t lie. The thought does linger sometimes, but, now’s not the time. Yet….I think.”

Barn kittens? Gods, the thought of his brother having to work around tiny felines was almost an amusing had it not been the concern of the threat of Arzhur returning anytime. It seemed he still wasn't aware of Mael's presence and the younger sibling was willing to take this small victory.

"Just make sure the flash is off. Best not to scare him," he jokingly mused, though could not help but wonder if there was possibly truth in the statement. Did his brother even own or actually use a camera before? Now, Mael, best not to dwell on such nonsense. Ellyn was talking and she was more important at the moment. Actually, this was the longest he had the chance to converse with Ellyn and it was rather pleasant to do so for once.

"That is a perfectly understandable point. I can imagine children being very time consuming. My old nieces and nephews did the same, even on the rare visits I could attain back then. At least I don't have some convent keeping me from saying hello to my newest relative."

Mael ceased in his current actions upon hearing the voice of a newcomer. Grey eyes slowly turned to see where the voice was coming from. “…..yes? Hello.” He started towards the young man. “And who are you?”

"It’s my powers that allow him to do that.. I’m not a mere mortal Mael.." He started speaking about the flood and Noah being born with a certain gene inside their bodies but only 14 humans are born with it."Shall we get a drink?" Tyki turned to Mael.

Mael eyed Tyki, a silent debate ongoing between himself, but did not walk away or ignore the words that came from this night's companion. "I would certainly say you are not." He tried to follow the conversation, a bit irritated at himself in lacking the knowledge of certain terms such as 'genes'. Thankfully neither his lover nor brother were here to tease him of such a thing, though the latter would likely falter in the discussion as well. It was alright. There were many a book Mael could look into later that might help to explain the few words that still slipped through his vocabulary.

"A drink?" The immortal only partook of the mortal fluid when he did not fear the consequence of the following evening, his body rejecting every unnatural substance, but a sharp pang of sound in the side of his head reminded him that it would be worth it. No control but his own tonight. "I am fine with this. First round will be my treat, then." There would be no regrets to this night at all.

"Do you have a preference?"

Mael did not know who or what this was that came into the land this night but it made him thankful they didn't stand on his lover's territory. Normally, he wasn't one to judge but to have someone surprise an immortal such as himself felt a bit unnerving...though it could have been his own fault for not paying attention but that is another concern for another evening.

"I don't know you. Who are you?"

He hunted alone often as of late, not thinking to look for company other than the wolf that trailed at his feet. The ones in his thoughts he tried to ignore. However, the immortal could not ignore the lingering presence of someone new that was near.

"Who goes this way?"

Good evening. I hope you’re having a decent night.

"I am, thank you." She smiled at the stranger. "You?"

"For what I can enjoy, I am. Just a bit lonely or loud, depending on the terms of things..." He shrugged his shoulders just a bit before bowing to the other. "My name is Mael. And to whom am I speaking?"

Mael felt a bit of confusion staring at the large breed canine before him, wondering why it felt compelled to step out this night. Was this not Lestat's pet? Did that mean his owner traveled nearby? Or was it lost?

Needless to say, however, his own black wolf had no qualms in padding forward to meet this other dog. Kenley was quite content to make new friends.
