Imagine the Engineer being an extreme creature of habit. The war is routine and he doesn't mind the work, as long as there's convenient consistent time slots. His life is punch cards and alarm clocks. So when something disrupts this pattern; changing maps, days off, his routine grinds to a halt and the rest of the day is spent in quiet unease desperately trying to readjust.

‘I’d like to thank all of the imagineclass blogs and headcanon blogs out there (namely imagineengineerimaginetf2sniperimaginemedic, andtf2imaginesandheadcanons) for collecting and providing me (and a bunch of other artists out there I’m sure) with so much art fodder to help us practice as well as entertain ourselves and other members of the tf2 fandom.

And a big thank you to everyone who has been contributing their ideas to these blogs! It’s been really fun drawing everything :D’

Imagine the Engineer being a total cheapskate. Part of it is the money, but the other part is try to see how long he can prevent the inevitable. Sure, things break after time, but how long can you fix it until its no longer functional for the final time? He has chairs more weld spots than original metal, quilts more patches than designs, you name it. Its just fun to puzzle out, the harder the fix, the more interesting.

Imagine the Engineer adopting all of the stray animals in the general vicinity of the base. While he’s not allowed to let any of them into the buildings, he considers them all his. After all, one tends to get a bit possessive after you feed and take care of animals long enough. And of course he has gained their trust through the persuasive power of food. To the Engineer, there’s nothing like sitting out back of the base with half a dozen cats laid out around him for pats and chin scratches.

Imagine the Engineer actually being quite sensitive to (sun)light. That's why he never/rarely takes off his goggles in the first place. His skin somewhat toughened up over the course of his childhood but his eyes never quite accustomed to it. So he made it a habit to wear caps or sunglasses lest he wanted to risk getting headaches from harsh light sources. And one particularly hot and intense day under the badland's sun he realized how much better his vision was with his goggles so he kept them.
