Riot Boy Grrl

@riotboygrrl-blog / riotboygrrl-blog.tumblr.com

Riot Boy Grrl/Brett/Britt is a person of many passions and layers, who distrusts binaries and labels and looks at the world through a queer (magic) lens. This is a per blog that seeks to challenge the status quo at every turn, and focuses on Brett's experience as a queer, non-binary trans* femme bear, person of size, who aspires to having a bad attitude and unpacking their privilege as a white, able bodied, middle class, colonizer. This blog focuses a lot on Brett's gender journey and is part of their healing process. TW: This blog contains personal stories about assault, abuse and mental health related stuff.

Feeling grateful after celebrating my 1 year anniversary with 3 cherished friends. My heart feels full, and I'm going to bed with a very handsome furiend.

Reality of what you get from a healthy romantic relationship when you’re mentally ill:

  • another person in your life who deeply supports you
  • encouragement to take care of yourself
  • not feeling alone (esp if partner is also mentally ill)
  • little moments of joy

What you don’t realistically get from a healthy romantic relationship when you’re mentally ill:

  • a cure that makes it all magically go away

Happiness is eating a doughnut. Also, as I post this picture I am thinking about being far away from people I care about as this shit goes down in Ottawa. Feeling disconnected, experiencing what Portland has to offer - as a friend says to me: food trucks and fisting. While people are being hurt in Ottawa and the government will undoubtedly use this as an excuse for more militarization abroad and policing at home. My love goes to friends and fam - and the ones I haven't met yet - who are going through this. <3 #queertravels #homesick #doughnutsasselfcare

Dear Dan Savage:

We appreciate all of the hard work that you and your sisterhood of the travelling imperialism (aka white gay men who speak over everyone else) have done for ‘the movement,’ but now we need you to keep moving far, far away

back into the closet along with your tacky outfit.

I didn’t know her, therefore Wikipedia:

Lucy (or Lucia) Eldine Gonzalez was born around 1853 in Texas, likely as a slave, to parents of Native American, Black American and Mexican ancestry.[1] In 1871 she married Albert Parsons, a former Confederate soldier. They were forced to flee from Texas north by intolerant reactions to their interracial marriage.

Described by the Chicago Police Department as “more dangerous than a thousand rioters” in the 1920s, Parsons and her husband had become highly effective anarchist organizers primarily involved in the labor movement in the late 19th century, but also participating in revolutionary activism on behalf of political prisoners, people of color, the homeless and women.

Woaaah.

Just woaaah.

“more dangerous than a thousand rioters” fuck yeah.

Wow.
