Looks like Choices is coming out with a Guinevere game? I won’t play it because I don’t want to inadvertently steal anything, but I hope it’s fun for those who do.
I do still have every intention of finishing my own game! Work and health are still miserable, but I’m saving as much as I can in hopes of at least having an early, Guen-writing retirement -- and some days that’s the only reason I get out of bed. But I do keep getting out of bed, every day.
my life these days...
...is, unfortunately, still pretty miserable -- I work long and stressful hours for an organization that is falling apart, but I’m stuck with it because my partner and I need the health insurance (and I’m not really employable in any other job that comes with health insurance). Work takes all my mental energy and then some.
The only thing that keeps me going is dreaming about being able to work on Guenevere again. When I fantasize about my retirement (if this horrible job holds together, I can at least retire early), it’s all built around writing IF, and massively expanding the Guenverse, and learning graphic design. I still haven’t lost any interest; it’s the opposite -- Guen is the only reason I’m still functioning at all.
I haven’t been able to look at my inbox for a long time, because I feel so bad about all the messages piling up. I looked yesterday, and there are a TON. On the one hand, I feel terrible about not having answered them, but on the other, it’s amazing to know that people are still discovering Guenevere and still enjoying it. If you sent me a message and I haven’t been able to reply, I’m really sorry. It’s not that I don’t care; I’m just extremely overwhelmed.
All that is to say, yes, I’m still alive, and no, I have not lost interest in writing or in Guenevere!
“Here’s to the bridge-builders, the hand-holders, the light-bringers, those extraordinary souls wrapped in ordinary lives who quietly weave threads of humanity into an inhumane world. They are the unsung heroes in a world at war with itself. They are the whisperers of hope that peace is possible. Look for them in this present darkness. Light your candle with their flame. And then go. Build bridges. Hold hands. Bring light to a dark and desperate world. Be the hero you are looking for. Peace is possible. It begins with us.”

Sometimes I'll be going about my day, think about Lancelot, and just feel very warm and fuzzy inside
same :) I love him, but I’m also willing to make things very difficult for him, and I can’t wait to share all the different possibilities for character development that I have planned for him!
I saw Star Wars and I have never been so simultaneously full of Apathy and Opinions

Hiya! I'm not sure if this is the right blog to ask questions... I just started playing Guenevere! What is your inspiration for the character personalities? Does Guen's lovely Fae dog die? (I hope not) Is Merlin going to stay as odd as he is? Will he make more sense later? (I hope so) Haha, I'm just full of questions. :P
Sure; I think my ask box on the main blog is still closed because I was so overwhelmed, but I still like getting questions now and then! Though I’m not sure what to say about inspiration for the character personalities; I guess I just thought about the traditional Arthurian archetypes and what felt interesting and/or real to me about them? The fae pet will live as long as Guen does (yay)! Merlin will both stay odd and make more sense later, especially in Book III, where he’ll play a large role -- in fact, I’ve already written some of his scenes there. You’ll also get to talk with him for a while at the end of Book II. I have a rough plan for a Merlin prequel, as well!
Hey guys! Just wanted to give a signal boost to an awesome LGBT+ video game that’s up on Kickstarter and it is SO CLOSE to being funded and almost out of time! Please, please check them out. Lunaris Games, the creators of this game, also created When The Night Comes–a free and really beautiful LGBT+ high fantasy game. They have raised thousands of dollars for the Human Rights Campaign, and their games are such a pleasure to play. Please join me in pledging a little bit to this awesome game!
You’d think after rewriting this stupid battle scene like 500 times over multiple years I would have learned how to spell “siege” correctly.
