new idea: the hyper bowl

it’s like the super bowl but

  • you have two football fields placed in a cross formation
  • four teams play at once
  • whatever happens in the middle happens

During one of my macroeconomics exams a couple years ago, one of the questions was written in pounds (GBP) and I heard someone sitting a row or two behind me say “good boy points” and I’ve been trying to find them on campus and become friends with them ever since

Cassian Andor, played by a Mexican actor, saying to Jyn Erso, a white character

“We don’t all have the luxury of deciding when and where to care about something.”

was the greatest moment of 2016. Know this.

i’m just so pissed off that luke never got to meet chirrut, like?? he would have had a much healthier & happier relationship with the force if he was trained by someone who uses the force and also is in touch with his feelings :/

you know what, i’m not done being angry about this.

master “repress your feelings” yoda teaches luke that he isn’t allowed to feel angry or scared, that in order to fulfill his destiny he needs to abandon his friends. yoda says that close attachments make you weak and that anger and fear - natural and necessary emotions - can turn you fucking evil.

chirrut, however, teaches that the force makes you strong, but your loved ones keep you alive. he teaches to put your faith in the force, but put your trust in your chosen family. he isn’t afraid of dying, but it isn’t because he stopped himself from caring - chirrut isn’t afraid of dying because he’s surrounded by his friends and chooses to go out fighting at their sides.

chirrut is what the jedi should be, what the jedi should strive to become. ultimately, neither the jedi order of old nor the sith are successful, because neither side deals with their goddamn emotions in a heathy way!

jesus christ, can you imagine what luke could have become if he’d gotten chirrut’s message instead of yoda’s? can you imagine that boy, who has so much love in his heart, unafraid to let it fuel him the way it’s meant to?
