Peggy’s eyes widened slightly and she felt the heat spread from her cheeks down to her neck as she did her absolute best not to picture her extremely attractive best friend taking more clothes off. Angie was just teasing her and her “British proper-ness” as she liked to call it. She didn’t mean anything by it, right?
“You Americans are always so crass,” she teased, bringing up their age-old argument.

“Oh c’mon, English, loosen up a bit.” She giggled, leaning forward a little bit. The neck of her shirt dipped to get a clearer view of her cleavage. She wasn’t being as subtle now. Of course, she had to be careful, but she trusted Peggy at least a little bit. “Take off that thick blazer and unbutton your shirt a little bit. I promise, it will feel so much better.”

“I mean, in public yes, but in the privacy of our home,” She giggled, knowing that she was flirting but wasn’t being so overt with it so Peggy wouldn’t get disgusted with her in the long run. “Who knows how much I’m willin’ to remove.” Okay, so it wasn’t much, insecurity winning out.

Peggy laughed softly at Angie’s question. “Trying to tempt me into your bed, Miss Martinelli?” She teased lightly. Her life was hectic - a constant runaway train that she could only pretend that she had control over. But things weren’t like that with Angie. With Angie, everything was so easy. Sure, they occasionally bickered and even had one or two genuine fights, but Peggy knew Angie was her home. “I only have to get through a few more pages. After that, I’m all yours, darling.”

“Me? Temptin’ you into bed? Never, Peggy Carter.” She teased and nuzzled closer to her. Of course she was. There was not a day that went by that Angie didn’t think that one day, Peggy would come to her senses and leave, so whenever she had the chance, she would try. Just to cherish as much time as she could with her. “Mm, okay, might end up fallin’ asleep if I’m here much longer.” She closed her eyes, the warmth coming from her girlfriend and the comfort it brought lulling her into a light slumber.

“It’s not that hot, Peg.” Angie giggled “But if you’re really curious, I just cut down on the layers I’m wearin’.” Case and point, she shrugged off the nice blazer she had been wearing to show that there was just a thin shirt on underneath instead of a dress shirt. She set the blazer off to the side and settled down where she had been sitting moments ago.

Peggy laughed softly at Angie’s soft response. Her heart fluttered and she couldn’t stop the bright grin creeping onto her face. “I love you too, darling,” she murmured softly. She would do anything for this woman.

Her head shifted, chin resting now on her shoulder as she snuggled up. Peggy’s words made her heart sing and she hummed. It wasn’t the first time she had said that to her, but every time felt like it, like she was hearing it for the first time and was basking in it. “How much longer until you’re done and I can hold you in bed.”

Peggy smiled and kissed Angie’s cheek before returning to her work. Her legs would surely fall asleep soon, but it was worth it. She absentmindedly rubbed Angie’s back as she worked.

The feel of Peggy’s hand against her back and the calming way she was tucked up against her made her eyes lower. She wasn’t tired, but this whole situation was comforting, and she felt so safe with her. Her girlfriend was warm and comfy and everything felt right. Her body molded itself against Peggy with ease and she sighed. “Comfy... Love you, English.”

Peggy took a moment to close her eyes and breathe in Angie’s scent. In that moment, all of the stress melted away and the weight of the world was lifted off of her shoulders. The paperwork could wait a few seconds. Angie was in her arms and she was happy. “You don’t have to get up if you don’t want to,” Peggy murmured softly, her cheeks turning a light pink.

Angie giggled when Peggy said that she didn’t have to get up. She had weaved her trap perfectly, and now she could cuddle with Peggy for a good amount of time before she would have to get up. “You don’t hear me complainin’, English.” She tucked herself closer to her girlfriend, letting herself relax. “You can keep workin’, I promise I won’t look.” She would just stick against her, in her arms.

Angie’s smile was infectious and Peggy found herself smiling wider. How could she possibly say no to the most beautiful woman in the world? Angie had her wrapped around her finger and all Peggy could do was hope Angie didn’t know just how much of a sucker the other woman truly was for her. “About an hour, darling,” she answered. “Perhaps we can find a compromise?” Peggy pushed her chair back and opened her arms as an invitation.

Angie had begun to realize just how much control she had over her girlfriend, but had promised herself that it would only be used for good. She beamed when Peggy pushed her chair back and she immediately moved to sit in her lap. She moved to brush her lips against Peggy’s and then move so she was hugging Peggy. “I’ll get up in a minute, I promise.” She spoke into her neck, feeling comforted in her arms. “I want you to come to bed soon.”

Angie was trying to keep the pout on her face in order to try and get Peggy to come to bed so she could cuddle with her. She knew that Peggy had a lot of paperwork to do, but Angie thought that it could be done in the morning, just so she could hold her girlfriend now. “Forgive me for bein’ in a cuddle mood, English.” She did let out a soft laugh, unable to keep the smile off her face for long. “How much more work do you have?”

Peggy gave Angie a sly grin and leaned in close. “Now why would I lie about that?” She murmured before kissing her jaw, letting her lips trail down Angie’s neck.

Angie let out a quiet moan at the feel of her lips against her jaw. “I never said that you were lyin’, Peg. I said that you were playin’. You’re the most amazin’ girl in the universe.” Her head moved lightly so Peggy could have better access to her neck.

“Now, Peg, don’t be playin’.” She giggled, definitely more intoxicated than she was letting on. She had no plans to leave anytime soon while she was wrapped around the most amazing girl Angie had ever met, and she felt like she was in her own personal heaven.

“This is nice, pretendin’ that nothin’ is going on outside.” Angie leaned back on the couch, sinking in just a little bit. She had been run around way too much lately, freelancing more than anything. She couldn’t wait for this day, to spend time with Mara.

Peggy found herself unable to stop smiling against Angie’s lips. This was perfect. Angie was perfect. When she felt Angie’s fingers tangle in her hair, she let out a soft, pleased sigh and went to gently pull the other woman into her lap.

Angie gasped when she was pulled into Peggy’s lap. She never thought she would have something like this, especially with Peggy and she just kept being surprised. She pulled back when her lungs burned with the need for air. “You’re amazin’, English.”

Peggy smiled as Angie pulled back from the kiss. She had to agree, it was definitely nice - more than nice, even. Angie’s lips were so soft and the sweetness of the schnapps only made it all the more lovely. “It was,” she murmured, looking Angie over. God, she was so gorgeous. Peggy would think that even without the alcohol. “I’d like to do it again.”

“I would like that too,” Angie grinned, wanting to kiss her again. It was something she had thought about for so long. She had been wanting to kiss Peggy for so long and she felt so blessed to finally be able to do it. She kissed her again, moving to tangle her fingers in Peggy’s hair.

Peggy looked around the hospital room, squinting.  Everything hurt, especially her head.  She wasn’t quite sure what happened.  She couldn’t remember.  She couldn’t remember much of anything.  When another woman came in, she felt overcome with…something.  “Hi,” she said softly, her voice hoarse from underuse.  “Are you my nurse?”

Peggy’s eyes widened when she saw how upset the woman was. The woman clearly knew her. “I’m sorry, I’m afraid I don’t. I don’t remember much of anything. I’m sorry.”

It was like everything was gone, her entire life crashed down around her. Peggy didn’t remember her. She was alone again. “I-I... I’m sorry,” She wanted to hide away, get away from Peggy before she ruined everything and was broken.
