I feel so high school every time I look at you (derogatory)
I want to find you in a crowd, just to hide from you (also derogatory)
Iām sinking, our fingers entwined (this makes me feel low)
Cheeks pink in the twinkling lights (Iām so fucking embarrassed, is my face actually red?)
Iām watching American Pie with you on a Saturday night (I bet this is how you spend your time you childish loser)
Youāre friends are around so be quiet (donāt slip up idiot, no one can find out)
Iām trying to stifle my sighs (Iām so bored with this)
Are you gonna marry, kiss or kill me? Itās just a game but really (I have to be with you and itās killing me)
No oneās ever had me, Not like you (I donāt date men)
You knew what you wanted and boy you got her (Iām so good at this, you donāt know what youāre in for)
I feel like laughing in the middle of practice (weāre rehearsing and I canāt take you seriously)
Iām hearing voices like a madman (this is making me crazy)
You know how to ball, I know Aristotle ( Travvy throw ball good)
Itās true, swear, scoutās honour (I swear itās true, however unlikely it may seem!!!!)
This song is HILARIOUS, itās the new London Boy. She really isnāt holding back, she thinks heās a dumb, redneck idiot and isnāt afraid to let him know
Ok yall are fucking killing it tonight!!!
Another brilliant deduction
I love that you named the sighs as annoyance š
Incredible how sheās simultaneously made a bop thatās genuinely catchy (arenāt all of her bearding songs?) and fun to sing along too, and is mocking the absurd picture that the public narrative has painted about their āromanceā being āevery girlās high school fantasyā.
All the fans living vicariously through their American hetero princess, and she gives them a song that seems to point out how fucking archaic that dream is (American pie, grand theft auto, etc are from when she was a teen and are notoriously misogynistic)and childish (ātruth, dare, spin bottles) sounds like sheās - even the sound of the song (which I love) sounds vaguely 90ās pop ish.
She even mocks the absurdity of this man being someone she could actually fall in love with āyou know how to ball/I know Aristotleā. When I heard that line the first time I physically cringed.
Also love the discomfort and slight condescension of āget my car door, isnāt that sweet?ā
And of course the kicker that you already mentioned of āitās true, swear, scoutās honorā using a phrase associated with not just youth, but mischievous children.
"Travvy throw ball good" š
oh you know Aristotle? name the four essential virtues
This rubs me the wrong wayālike you canāt take an interest in your daughterās interests unless it overlaps with your own? I get that this is meant as a feel good story but itās so in line with the patriarchal narrative of whatever young girls being interested in is deemed worthless by society
IT'S HAPPENING IT'S HAPPENING
This is why sheās the peopleās princess (of Ireland š®šŖ)
Read some actual comics, Kyle.
Superman is an incredibly kind and tender character. (If heās not being written that way, then heās not being written well.) He inspires hope not just through his heroics, but also through his kindness toward other people. Thatās his thing. Donāt you DARE call tenderness a āweakness.ā Get your toxic masculinity the hell away from me and go read a badly written Batman comic if you want a ātoughā male character.
sheās a little cutie and i will defend her with my life š«”
Hii
on Twitter, in late 2015, Camila tweeted a photo of an artwork that she liked, and a fan replied trying to link it to Camren or to Lauren
And Camila replied: "this literally has nothing to do with that, this specific pic means a lot to me and always has, don't make it about that pls
I believe Camren was real but I never believed into the moon sun theory lol. What about you? What do you think about the theory and camilaās reply?
I do think the sun/moon meant something to the girls, given how many times theyāve posted about it and depicted it in their art. That one specific reply from Camila was probably during a rough patch for Camren (of which they had plenty), so she probably didnāt want to associate it with Lauren at the time.
Whether or not anyone from Taylorās team actually spoke to CNN about the NYT article, letās all be reminded that:
* Nobody speculated on Taylorās sexuality. The author points out various ways in which Taylor flags queerness in her art and that suggests to queer people that she may be one of us. Thatās not a speculation, thatās fact.
* The article is also largely about closeting in the entertainment industry. And thatās still very common (also fact) whether you like it or not.
* This beautifully written and heartfelt article makes a point for the kind of world that queer people deserve to live in. If you call that āinappropriateā I think that says a lotā¦
And maybe most importantly: IF SHE WAS AN ALLY SHE WOULD NOT BE OFFENDED TO BE ASSUMED QUEER! Being gay is not offensive and if you think otherwise, thatās homophobia.
At no point does the author dig into her muses or speculate on who she might be dating. Thatās a level of journalistic professionalism that a lot of lesser publications could learn from.
Anna Marks (if that is your name) you are a brilliant writer and journalist, and I hope you do not take any criticism from old white men on CNN!
ALL OF THIS
ššššššš
The fact that the argument is that speculating about her sexuality is gross when the mainstream media has no problem posting BS articles about Taylor moving in with Travis, Travis proposing, How will they spend the holidays, and on and on and onā¦ā¦.
They donāt even see the irony of their own idiocy because straight is the default. They donāt see that THAT is what was being attacked in the prologue they love to cite so much. No one cares that so many times Taylor has told us to pay attention to her lyrics. Itās beyond ridiculous.
he gets it
the other big reason why i think a lot of lesbians have always really resonated with taylor's music is because her earliest work was so clearly not written from the point of view of someone talking about real relationships she'd really had, but from the perspective of someone very sheltered and inexperienced who was writing about the way the world has taught them they SHOULD feel, if that makes sense. her whole artistic perspective has always felt like that of someone who was very intelligent but also somewhat developmentally delayed socially/romantically, and when you look at albums like debut or fearless (or even speak now, red, and 1989, tbh), it was always like, the happy/romantic songs were about fantasy scenarios or very brief initial interactions with a lot of projection and extrapolation involved, or pining after someone untouchable or unavailable, and the ones that felt "real" and like they came from actual lived experiences were about feeling let down or uncomfortable with the reality of what came after that first rush. so yeah can you IMAGINE why women and girls dealing with compulsory heterosexuality and the fallout from it might possibly relate to those themes?
Hi how are you?
You know the other things that make me believe that Camren was/is realā¦at least in the past is the behaviour of Ally , Normani , Dinah, like that are mad suspicious during some of the interviews. Like, they will look at Camren weirdly like that shit is mad obvious.
Ally's "you too, with your water" in the bunk video is my Roman empire
Hi hope you are doing well!
Happy new year!
If Carmenās account is used by thr management then how can be sure that itās them(L&C) who is doing the indirects?
I'm sure they have some control over their accounts, so they make the indirects and more personal posts while management posts other things (i.e. new music promo).
Hii hope you are doing well.
https://youtu.be/rUcicWV18lg?si=t39XKl5u5rOn25q4
Can you please watch this video.
From 1:25 to 4:00 there is an interview in the video and both camila and Lauren talk about Camren, what do you think?
I mean they're kind of right, CS can be creepy and invasive and cross boundaries on a regular basis. Shipping is just part and parcel of fandom culture these days, but that doesn't mean we can harass the girls, their friends and family, and their public partners (real or PR) about Camren. But knowing what we know now, Lauren's "you can't tell me what I'm feeling" was likely a defense mechanism against those who could see she was queer/into Camila, no matter how much she tried to hide it.
Hiii hope you are doing well.
I hope something like AMAās 2018 happens again with Camren. That was so wild lol .
yeah this fandom is so dead, I think we could all use something like that right about now
