1. They also invented kayaks and dog booties.

Dog booties are actually really important for working sled dogs in winter to protect their paw pads from iceburn and keep ice from getting in between their toes and burning them that way.

2. The traditional Inuit diet is one of the healthiest in the world, and the most balanced for the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 consumption

Most modern diets consume way too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3.

3. Inuit is a plural noun. When speaking about a single person the correct word is Inuk (always capitalized)

For example, “This Inuk woman is wearing traditional Inuit tattoos”.

Machine logic and the 3 laws dictate only one response to the trolley problem: robot must stop trolley before anyone is hurt, even to its own destruction and in direct disobedience of orders not to.

I’m genuinely bewildered as to why so many people seem to think the trolley problem is a riddle rather than an intentionally uncomfortable binary moral choice.

Like, the entire point of it is that you have only two options. There isn’t a secret third option of noble self-sacrifice, and if there is, you’re not talking about the trolley problem at all, you’re just describing a fantasy of heroism. An Asimovian robot would certainly sacrifice itself to save a human, as would a sufficiently altruistic human, if that were a feasible possibility. But the trolley problem continues to be the trolley problem if:

Only a very early and simplistic Asimovian robot would not be able to comprehend that attempting to physically reach the trolley would be impossible. Tugging futilely on the chain would probably register as inaction after it became clear that it could not free itself in time.

That is... Exactly why people have that reaction to the trolley problem, though? Like, why can't we find a third option there? Because the guy who came up with it as a defense of utilitarianism said so?

No, because it’s a thought experiment. No one is forcing you to engage with it—if you don’t want to think about it, you don’t have to. It’s not supposed to be comfortable or have a clean feel-good solution that everyone agrees upon is morally preferable. “I want to get out of this situation without feeling as though I have acted an executioner in some way” is the obvious human instinct, but if the question were “would you sacrifice yourself for others?” it would be an entirely different thought experiment.
