Deryn’s Mom here! I have news!
Deryn is a boy! I still love him more than anything and he’s still my pretty princess. But I look forward to his long and healthy life and I hope he becomes a dad to many tiny offspring.

I've seem to have made a grave mistake. Mom moved me right after she took my picture.
I love San Diego! There's so much sun and I can walk around the apartment.
We made it to San Diego! For the first week I had to stay with Aunt Danielle while mom got her apartment, but we enjoyed the view. It was nice to not be on the road anymore and to be in our new home.
We finally made it to California! But there was still time to travel. We didn't like the hills so Mom let us sit on her lap until we got to a border patrol checkpoint. We loved it.
In Tucson Mom hit the holy grail of food. I tried to eat a French fry but was thwarted in my attempts.
Please stay safe!
We’re sending good thoughts to all. And let’s also think good thoughts for the threatened Gopher Tortoises whose habitats are in the direct line of the storm.
Back to our epic trip! I was not interested in being in my box. I just wanted to feel safe and watch Mom. We were almost halfway through Arizona but I was grumpy.
I didn't cause any trouble for Aunt Autumn, but I caused trouble for Mom today! I got stuck and was super upset.
Mom had to make an emergency trip to Oklahoma. My Aunt Autumn is gonna watch me for the week. I wonder what trouble I can get away with while she's gone?
Arizona!! Three states crossed, two left! The sights were so pretty, but none as cute as me.
Somewhere in the middle of New Mexico I got tired of being in the car. Mom let me sit on her lap and even made a special stop for me to stretch my legs!!
Next stop on our trip was Roswell! Mom was hoping for cool pictures, but forgot to take into account she made it there at four in the morning. I was awake, but she woke Argyl up for his photo. No worries though, he went back to sleep as soon as the car started moving again. I wasn't going to miss out on this adventure, though! That's me on the left, and baby brother Argyl on the left.
The first stop we made was HEB in Abilene. And mom didn’t even come out with greens! She said she needed her fix of Texas shaped tortilla chips, salsa, and off-brand Coke, among other things. I remember when she used to buy me food at HEB.
We're gonna post the pictures from our epic move to San Diego! I love it here so much, but boy, I was not enjoying that ride. This is from when we first left Oklahoma and crossed into Texas. I wasn't going to sleep like Argyl was, so Mom made me take a picture. 😑
This is a whole month late, but my “Gotcha!” Day and unofficial hatch day was 13 August! I am a whole 7 years old now, and I’ve been with Mom for two years! Since Mom didn’t come home for another four days, Dad went to the Commissary to get me a special lunch! It was delicious!
