▐「中将」— The answer that was given would rile an audible scoff before taking a few steps forward. "That's the kind of answer I would expect from someone like you."

"You sure you can keep that promise? Marines tend to break them." She angered but still kept her cool. "You act so tough, but you can’t even defeat him"

▐「中将」— Him. There was only one man she could have been referring to, but there was already something wrong with her statement. Smoker had already defeated the Strawhat twice, but due to unexpected circumstances, he managed to slip away during both confrontations. "Are you trying to test my patience?" 

1 Person on the Way

▐「中将」— "I didn't realize that you were a cook." 

Marshall D. Teach… Blackbeard. Of course she knew who he was. it was impossible, how the man had managed to steal his power and destroy Marineford completely. She knew he was responsible for Ace’s capture in the first place, as well. If she could help Luffy avenge his death in some way, then so be it.

“Wise enough. I don’t mind reconnaissance,” she stated simply. She was a kuja, they were good at recon. Not to mention her observation Haki was taught to them from a young age. “It seems he’s become quite a bully to the government as of late. It makes sense that they’d want to bring him down.”

The man was terrifying on his own, but Hancock knew even a little piece of information would help the government on their mission. They’d definitely want to take action, and soon, before he grew even more powerful.

▐「中将」— The trail this particular pirate has left in his wake was anything but invisible in the eyes of the government. With cities and villages left in ruin after this particular group ransacked each location, it was astounding to think that the Admirals weren't sent out right away to apprehend the captain and the miscreants who had caused such chaos among the innocents. With one swift movement, Smoker eased himself into his jacket before adjusting it to reveal just the right amount of skin.

"That's good to hear. We're heading out as soon as the sun sets." He informed her before adjusting one of his cigars. "If I were you, I'd get everything you'll need for a three day trip. We should only be gone for a day, but you never know what will pop up."

In the New World, nothing was out of question and there was an endless plethora of possibile scenarios to prepare for. The worst scenario of them all, however, would be a full out brawl against the group. Not that it rattled him in the least bit. The door to his office was pushed ajar before dark eyes turned back to see the Empress one last time. "Don't tell anyone about this mission. We don't need anyone tagging along."

"I already told you, that you have no right to know. Getting desperate Mr.Admiral?" She said looking at his weapon. "You guys make me sick."

▐「中将」— "You're standing in my way. If you're a criminal, I promise that I will drag you to Impel Down myself." Frustration bubbled from within the pit of his stomach as his fingers held onto his weapon tightly. "

"Oh really ? Because I’m sure if I tell you one word it’ll be a definite interest. You’d love to interrogate me. But I won’t tell." She teased.

▐「中将」— The man's eyes narrowed as a single hand reached behind him to grab hold of his jitte. "I don't have time for this. Who are you?"

▐「中将」— "I should be asking you the same question." Smoker replied as he stared down towards the woman before him with a quirked brow. "Are you a pirate?"

╠❀~ Humming lightly as he held her closer, she should have been more on guard but the pounding in her head made it difficult. That didn’t keep her from listening to his short responses, he wasn’t one to converse with an enemy. Probably smarter that way, but he wasn’t reaching for his jitte to weaken her further. A part of her was glad for that though, she knew it had seastone on it, while she could react quickly he was possibly faster.

The bruises coating both of their necks and shoulders, possibly further along their skin, were dark. Some already fading but there were a few still a dark purple. Hopefully she could cover them if she was able to return to her friends unharmed.

"You realize, Smoker-san, that I won’t easily divulge any information I deem you do not need." Robin mused as she shifted on his lap to look in his eyes. Not only was this feeling familiar, but she knew to keep quiet around those in power. No need to spill her secrets to a man she married while intoxicated. 

Ah that was her name, Robin should file it away in case she needed to do some information scouting later. "Would she know where you are? She seems the type to follow you closely in case this sort of thing happened." Only seeing that woman back in Alabasta when she attempted to arrest Robin, before having her arms broken. Tashigi gave an air much like Smoker. That sort of air where justice came before pleasure for oneself. It would be a rough reunion if his swordswoman showed up, that is if Tashigi remembered Robin at all.  

"You may ask me anything, but nothing about my crew~" Her tone was teasing as she felt him pull her closer. He didn’t seem too unhappy with his situation, now she simply had to wait for a chance to flee. Robin idly ran her fingers along the contours of his face as she waited for his move or response.

▐「中将」— There was a conflict brewing within the pounding head of the Marine as the scent of the other's body filled his nostrils. With his Justice weighing down on one side and his moral code placed on the other, Smoker truly didn't know what to do in a situation like this. Rather than reacting harshly, however, the official decided to play it safe for the time being. There was no point in struggling in this kind of situation, but never in his many years as a Marine did he think that he would ever be stuck in a scenario like this.

"Of course not. I'm not stupid." The usual gruff tone escaped from him as bare bodies remained within close proximity to one another. To him, personal space was never an issue, so, having a naked woman sitting in his lap didn't bother him too much. What did bother him was the fact that she was a notoriously known pirate who wasn't exactly known for her lenient tactics. Keeping her close to him was probably the best strategy.

"You're not going to escape from me..." The bold statement stood as truth within the eyes of the determined Marine. "It's only a matter of time before you make your first move."

With that, a single hand reached up to grab hold of the other's chin before redirecting her gaze so that she was looking back into the man's own cold eyes. They were both in a vulnerable state and defenseless against one another; however, he wasn't planning on letting go of any ground. Instead, he wanted to show her exactly who was the prisoner and who was the prison guard. His hand held her head completely still in front of him as the his fingers curled lightly against her back.

"Tashigi wouldn't know where I am. I left the base without her. If anything, she's probably trying to find a trail to my whereabouts." 

She stuck her nose up in the air, the very vision of a stubborn child as she looked away from the marine. She resented her position greatly. If all she could do was quietly pout and take her orders that’s what they would do. Even working with one like Smoker, she supposed things could still always be worse. She chanced a glance at Smoker, whose hand lay across the table as an offering of peace. Was he actually making an effort?

He must have known how she usually cut down men of his kind. A kick to the head, their shoulders crumbling beneath the power of the Kuja’s kick. She dismissed men stronger than him on a daily basis. Usually, their instinct was to attempt to dominate, to force her subservience, but that only made her stronger.

This caught her completely off guard.

Her eyes narrowed as she looked back toward him. This had to be some kind of trick. Still, if she refused, he’d most likely revert to making her wear sea stone or keeping her in the brig until she cooperated. This was at least a chance for her to save face. After all, she’d come this far. Her hand reached out, graceful as ever, and gripped his hand firmly as any man could. 

“Agreed, Vice Admiral Smoker. I will make a better attempt at being more civil. I appreciate you asking me rather than forcing cooperation out of me,” It was true that he probably would have resorted to it eventually, but she could be good. She’d proved that on Momonga’s ship. And this time she wasn’t even hiding a fugitive. “If communication stays open, I can forsee no immediate issues between us.”

▐「中将」— To be honest, Smoker didn't expect the Empress to be so level headed on the issue. Her reputation had reflected a figure who was stubborn and hard-headed; however, with her soft digits locked into a firm hand shake with him, it was obvious that past experiences would go unnoticed for the time being. After a few moments, his hand slowly withdrew from the other's grip as his rugged frame was pushed out of his chair. With those complications out of the way, Smoker and Hancock could finally get down to the real reason she was transferred to G-5.

"Are you aware of the pirate known as Marshall D. Teach?" The words were mere growls as he reached over to place the wanted poster down in front of the woman. "His rise to power is beginning to worry us to the point that we've resorted to sending higher ranked officials after him and his gang; however, every unit we've sent after them has been defeated or gone missing. I'm temporarily being reassigned to this case, and that's why you're here. "

A slow exhale left a large plume of smoke lingering around the man's lips as heavy lids finally came to a close. It wasn't like the Marines to force his hand like this, and having them do so only meant that this was a real emergency. Now the only question was what sort of actions was he willing to take to ensure the safety of his unit and comrades? Heavy foot steps made their way around the table as the man's large frame passed the slender beauty in silence.

"With our current predicament taken into consideration, I figured it would be a good time to go on a reconnaissance mission with just the two of us. Taking on the Blackbeard pirates alone would be a problem, and the only thing I'm worried about is what they're planning on doing. Besides..." Smoker's eyes slowly began to open once more only to reflect the rather intimidating gaze he had often held in the presence of his enemies. "If we end up being caught, I know that you'll be able to take care of yourself."

Trust was the last thing he wanted to give this woman, but if it meant preventing unnecessary casualties among his unit, he was willing to make that sacrifice.
