I really like fictional couples that actually enjoy spending time with each other. It seems like such a simple, mundane thing. But, often, I see fictional couples who are completely enamored and dramatic and willing to die for each other, which is fine. But like… do they enjoy hanging out? Do they have private jokes and would they be friends even if they weren’t in love? It feels like such a basic thing, but it’s something that I actually don’t see that often. And it feels so refreshing and honest compared to these over-dramatic romeo and juliet-esque romances. Just two people who become good friends and because they enjoy each other’s presence so much it grows into a strong attraction. It feels more real and tangible than two attractive people meeting and “falling in love at first sight” - like, of course, you fell in love at first sight! You’re both supermodels! Sorry, can’t relate.

So I've been going down nostalgia lane recently with old flash games (orisinal!) and it got me thinking about ways in which memories are pulled up by different senses. So on that note:

Obviously the examples don't cover everything, just go with what feels the most right :)

»Und nun mach ich mich schwach«, sagte Pony Hütchen, »morgen früh bin ich wieder da. Wo werdet ihr schlafen? Gott, ich bliebe ja zu gern hier und würde euch Kaffee kochen. Aber was soll man machen? Ein anständiges Mädchen gehört in die Klappe. So! Wiedersehen, meine Herren!

It is a real tragedy that English does not have a diminutive suffix. There is no way to properly translate that from Dutch to English and it's tragic because in many cases the diminutive adds a layer of meaning that you can only translate with like a dozen extra words

No, cause we (Germans) can kinda use uwu-speak in our language too and that's different

I'd say diminutives are more like dog vs doggy and cat vs kitty and duck vs ducky, but we can do that with literally all nouns

Like a Bett is a bed but a Bettchen is a cute little bed. A Haus is a house but a Häuschen is a cute little house

(Not to mention all of the sarcastic and insulting ways in which you can use the diminutive form

Like, Schatz is only used as a term of endearment, but Schätzchen can be almost insult-level rude)

my guys, i do know who needs to hear this but i don't want to @ anyone... but if you copy tags from someone you gotta at least write "< prev" or something bc a) it's rude not doing that and b) tags are a form of communication and so is copying them!! pls talk to the person who's tags you're copying, doesn't have to be a novel, an exlamation mark will do but please say something!!
