I’m a 20 year old black woman in Hollywood and I have written, directed, and produced my own TV show called “Loyalty”. Every single actor casted is a person of color. There are 18 actors in the cast of season 1... 13 of them are black. I knew that if I ever created something, it would be for my people. For the actors and actresses that don’t book jobs because the production has already met their “quota”. For the actors and actresses that have only booked the roles of “the sassy best friend” or the “dude with the one liner”. For the actresses that get on set and the hair stylist doesn’t know what to do with her hair. That girl, that guy - they have lead roles in Loyalty. Black shows can be successful.
