My name is Ashi (the one with the longer, lighter hair in the photos). You don’t follow me, but I love you, and I’m writing this post in the hope that maybe you will somehow see it!

I’ll be flying across the country on Tuesday, to see you in Sydney on November 28th with my sister, Renee! We are extremely close, but I only see her a couple of times a year. And I only see you every couple of years! So next Saturday night is going to be an extremely special night.

To be honest, this show is pretty much all I have thought about for a year. I have kept the concert tickets at my mums house in her drawer, and when I visit I can never help but go take them out and look at them.

All us Aussies can’t believe you’re in Australia soon! But at the same time, it feels like we’ve waited a lifetime to have you back.

I finished my tour outfit a couple of days ago, I hope you like it 😊 I think you will, because it looks kinda similar to one of your favourite outfits 🙊 I talked my sister into dressing up with me, doesn’t she look amazing?

I first discovered your music 9 years ago. Ever since then you have been the number one person I look up to, in so many ways.

I have played piano for as long as I can remember. But I have spent the last 12 years keeping it secret that I sing and write songs. I was always too afraid that nobody would like my singing voice.

This past year, I have watched you blossom and become even more confident in who you are. I watched you hold your head high despite rumours and criticism swirling all around you. I slowly realised that it didn’t matter if people didn’t like the sound of my voice, and that I shouldn’t let fear of judgement from others hold me back from doing what I love. And thanks to you, I decided to share my passion. One night, I sent a video to my best friend, of myself performing a song I had written for her after her fiancé walked out on her 11 weeks before their would-be-wedding. We both cried. She was blown away. She loved everything about it. She felt honoured and blessed and special at a time when someone she loved had made her feel unwanted and heartbroken. And that was the moment I knew that I couldn’t hide my songs for fear of people disliking my voice. Because you never know just how much someone is going to need the words you have written. I have songs written for friends and family who have no idea. Songs that allow me to sing things I have never said. And now, thanks to you, I am not afraid for those people to hear them!

Since, I have gradually shared my original demos and covers, and have had such an encouraging reaction. You’re right when you say nobody can be as mean to us as we are to ourselves. Sometimes I still feel my confidence drop away, but I am constantly looking up to you, and you inspire me to keep going.

In the next few weeks I will be releasing my first original single and sharing my songwriting for the first time. I am anxious, and I still have my doubts, but I am also proud and excited. As I begin the next step in this journey I want to say thank you for giving me the confidence to speak now (or sing now) even though I am scared. I am so grateful for your existence, for who you are, for all you’ve done. I may not be selling records, or hearing my songs on the radio (maybe someday), but you taught me to be fearless, and I am sharing my creations with others one song at a time. And that is more than I ever dreamed I would achieve. Thank you @taylorswift for helping me find my voice again.

You have such a gift. In my opinion, nobody else on this earth has the ability to guide and connect with so many souls through music and lyrics. Nobody else on earth has done what you have done. I have learned so much from you. I owe so much to you. Thank you, from a 23 year old girl in country Western Australia, who you have never met, yet who’s life you have changed.

This is my outfit for your 1989 concerts in Melbourne. I drew inspiration from the shake it off ballerina outfit as I’m a dancer (one day I want to dance for you on tour) however I made it unique by deciding to make my own ‘cat leotard’ with a bit (well maybe a lot) of help from my nan. (I think the cats kinda look like Meredith and Olivia). I’ve been looking forward to this all year as it’s almost been a year since we purchased tickets.
