Watch Echo. Please. Please.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to see this kind of representation, this kind of investment from a company like Marvel, in telling indigenous peoples' stories. They consulted with the Choctaw nation, they DUBBED THE ENTIRE SERIES IN CHOCTAW. Choctaw is an endangered language! Fewer than 500 people remain that speak it fluently! And here it is, preserved in a Marvel Show about a Native Super Hero!!!!

I know you have MCU fatigue, I get it. I understand that some of the disney+ Marvel shows have been underwhelming. But I am BEGGING YOU. Just watch Echo. Just give it a chance, give Her a chance. The world is a better place with stories like this in it, and the only way we will get more of them is if we show companies like Marvel that their investment isn't a waste.

All right y'all! It's 5 in the morning, I just finished this amazing ass show, and I thought there were a couple of callbacks to some of the other shows from Flanverse!

  1. Leo tells Frederick that "His boyfriend is dead, he just doesn't know it yet!" when I tell you I screamed!!! I felt like that was such a cool reference to the Haunting of Bly Manor, where Hannah, who is Owen's almost girlfriend, is dead, but just doesn't know it till the very end!!!!!
  2. The City in the Sea poem, at least the first verse of it, felt like a huge reference to Midnight Mass and the town that existed there!!

Let me know if you felt that way too, and if you caught some other references to Mike's old shows!! I can't wait to talk more about this!

First flashback in the first episode with the mother in the storm tracking muddy footprints into the House of Usher is a direct reference to the Lady of the Lake in Bly Manor.

The “forever home” is never spoken out loud like in Bly and Hill House but there are adjacent lines and it’s implied.

gotham war? failsafe? tom taylor? batgirl getting defeated by harley fucking quinn and oracle can walk again? dude what are you talking about, a massive earthquake just hit gotham city!!! its crazy, they're calling it no man's land! cmon buddy, theyre all waiting for us at the comic shop. we're gonna pool our allowances together and share so we all get to experience this exciting new arc :)
