Bad Boy - Eric Fischl: This piece confuses me, I’m not quite sure what the artist was trying to portray. At first glance it seems like a young boy snuck into a woman’s room while she was asleep. However, the positioning of her right leg gives off the impression that she is awake. I am also wondering what the young boy is reaching into his bag for? Perhaps he is stealing some of the fruit? If the artist’s intention was to spark the viewers curiosity then he did a great job -Giovanni Poliard

D.W.C Woman - Joseph Todorovitc

The girl in this painting exhibits anxious and nervous mannerisms to me. The way she is fiddling with her hands and looking away from the viewer shows that she is distracted by something, most likely the clutter in the background. The artist did a great job of conveying these emotions with such subtle details.

I feel indifferent towards this painting. The lack of contrast within the color palette and the use of curves create a soft theme and I am not a fan of paintings that have soft themes. The artist did a great job of painting this but it doesn’t quite fit my taste. -Giovanni Poliard

This painting is impressive to me because the artist was able to simulate the real-life lighting of a boxing event, the fighters stand out from the crowd. I feel like the painting wouldn’t be half as good without this small detail. -Giovanni Poliard
