I finished one piece live action. Here's my spoiler free review:

In brief, it's NOT the same but it really gets at the heart of what makes one piece good. There's a lot of changes to tie things together more or condense into a better format.

The new stuff: generally, condensing. One change I love is adding conversations and moments between characters we just couldn't get before. There's a long running b-plot that shows a different side to the intro saga. I really like where it left off, and it sets up a second season (which I think is likely) perfectly.

Several story beats are changed, excess villains cut which is a shame but understandable. I have more of a sense of cohesion amongst the strawhats, to be honest. I love how they are together.

For new fans, I think it does a great job. We do get to see one spoiler (originally revealed WAY down the line) early. I like the way it's explored, especially by a certain other older character.
