letstalkpalestine has set up a LinkTree that prioritizes different fundraisers for people in Gaza and rotates out fundraisers once campaigns are complete. There are so many worthy causes worth donating to and it can be difficult to keep track of them all, so this is a great resource.

Operation Olive Branch has created a Google Drive of different GoFundMe campaigns to support. All campaigns have been vetted. They're also encouraging people to go to the social media pages of family members responsible for the different campaigns and amplify their voices, which is an extremely important step that I've found tends to be left out. Donating is great, but doing everything we can to boost Gazans' stories and spread awareness is crucial.

There's over 200 families on here! Please refer to this document when you have money to spare and are unsure where to donate to!

There's also a short list of confirmed frauds to avoid!

my stalker of 7 years is impersonating me on facebook again, please help me report it!

hey everyone it's meee. not sure if you remember since I literally don't come on here anymore due to the sick fuck that harasses me on here constantly.

he's been in and out of the inboxes of everyone I talk to on this website over the past several years, despite the restraining order I placed on him that states stay away from me both on and offline - and despite it escalating to him getting picked up on a warrant due to violating that order - it's to the point that everyone on here who has experienced him recognizes his words immediately when he makes fake accounts and i'm always notified. I have documentation of over 80 accounts since his stalking began, no exaggeration.

He's recently been ramping up his harassment again and now he has created a fake facebook account using my real name (I still have documentation from the last time he did this, lol) and worst of all he's added himself as the only friend and is making the the creepiest weirdo posts that would make anyone's skin crawl and tagging the account. feel free to look at them I don't care about this sick fuck or his safety or livelihood, he should be mocked and persecuted. I'm headed back to court after having filed another police report!

Thank yeww. Also see under the cut for more venting on his behavior and screenshots that are icky:

The fake page is down! Thank you for your help! Be safe as he is still harassing people on this site, obviously including me, via what he thinks are anonymous accounts. My stalker is now even boldly copying posts from my blog to his facebook page. The joke is that my blog is only viewable to people who have accounts on this site and the police were here today and got to watch, in real time, while he made multiple accounts. I have even more beyond solid proof to the attorney that he is cyberstalking. 🙏

Will continue to keep you updated!

Amjad Al Nour is Sudanse, here he is explaining the primary similarities and differences between the reporting on Ghazzah and the reporting on Khartoum, and why so little information is circulating about the destruction of Khartoum. He summarizes the current dynamics in the war and why it is different from the situation in Ghazzah. I want to further add a disclaimer that the resistance movements of Sudan, the ones truly standing for freedom, are not allying with the SAF because they like them but out of necessity to push out the common enemy which is the RSF.

I usually don't say anything like this, but if you're going to watch any video today, please make it this one, and please watch it now!

"Two and a half years ago, when I was asked to help write the most authoritative report on climate change in the United States, I hesitated...

In the end, I said yes, but reluctantly. Frankly, I was sick of admonishing people about how bad things could get. Scientists have raised the alarm over and over again, and still the temperature rises. Extreme events like heat waves, floods and droughts are becoming more severe and frequent, exactly as we predicted they would. We were proved right. It didn’t seem to matter.

Our report, which was released on Tuesday, contains more dire warnings. There are plenty of new reasons for despair. Thanks to recent scientific advances, we can now link climate change to specific extreme weather disasters, and we have a better understanding of how the feedback loops in the climate system can make warming even worse. We can also now more confidently forecast catastrophic outcomes if global emissions continue on their current trajectory.

But to me, the most surprising new finding in the Fifth National Climate Assessment is this: There has been genuine progress, too.

I’m used to mind-boggling numbers, and there are many of them in this report. Human beings have put about 1.6 trillion tons of carbon in the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution — more than the weight of every living thing on Earth combined. But as we wrote the report, I learned other, even more mind-boggling numbers. In the last decade, the cost of wind energy has declined by 70 percent and solar has declined 90 percent. Renewables now make up 80 percent of new electricity generation capacity. Our country’s greenhouse gas emissions are falling, even as our G.D.P. and population grow.

In the report, we were tasked with projecting future climate change. We showed what the United States would look like if the world warms by 2 degrees Celsius. It wasn’t a pretty picture: more heat waves, more uncomfortably hot nights, more downpours, more droughts. If greenhouse emissions continue to rise, we could reach that point in the next couple of decades. If they fall a little, maybe we can stave it off until the middle of the century. But our findings also offered a glimmer of hope: If emissions fall dramatically, as the report suggested they could, we may never reach 2 degrees Celsius at all.

For the first time in my career, I felt something strange: optimism.

And that simple realization was enough to convince me that releasing yet another climate report was worthwhile.

Something has changed in the United States, and not just the climate. State, local and tribal governments all around the country have begun to take action. Some politicians now actually campaign on climate change, instead of ignoring or lying about it. Congress passed federal climate legislation — something I’d long regarded as impossible — in 2022 as we turned in the first draft.

[Note: She's talking about the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Act, which despite the names were the two biggest climate packages passed in US history. And their passage in mid 2022 was a big turning point: that's when, for the first time in decades, a lot of scientists started looking at the numbers - esp the ones that would come from the IRA's funding - and said "Wait, holy shit, we have an actual chance."]

And while the report stresses the urgency of limiting warming to prevent terrible risks, it has a new message, too: We can do this. We now know how to make the dramatic emissions cuts we’d need to limit warming, and it’s very possible to do this in a way that’s sustainable, healthy and fair.

The conversation has moved on, and the role of scientists has changed. We’re not just warning of danger anymore. We’re showing the way to safety.

I was wrong about those previous reports: They did matter, after all. While climate scientists were warning the world of disaster, a small army of scientists, engineers, policymakers and others were getting to work. These first responders have helped move us toward our climate goals. Our warnings did their job.

To limit global warming, we need many more people to get on board... We need to reach those who haven’t yet been moved by our warnings. I’m not talking about the fossil fuel industry here; nor do I particularly care about winning over the small but noisy group of committed climate deniers. But I believe we can reach the many people whose eyes glaze over when they hear yet another dire warning or see another report like the one we just published.

The reason is that now, we have a better story to tell. The evidence is clear: Responding to climate change will not only create a better world for our children and grandchildren, but it will also make the world better for us right now.

Eliminating the sources of greenhouse gas emissions will make our air and water cleaner, our economy stronger and our quality of life better. It could save hundreds of thousands or even millions of lives across the country through air quality benefits alone. Using land more wisely can both limit climate change and protect biodiversity. Climate change most strongly affects communities that get a raw deal in our society: people with low incomes, people of color, children and the elderly. And climate action can be an opportunity to redress legacies of racism, neglect and injustice.

I could still tell you scary stories about a future ravaged by climate change, and they’d be true, at least on the trajectory we’re currently on. But it’s also true that we have a once-in-human-history chance not only to prevent the worst effects but also to make the world better right now. It would be a shame to squander this opportunity. So I don’t just want to talk about the problems anymore. I want to talk about the solutions. Consider this your last warning from me."

Health organizations are warning of an imminent public health crisis in the Gaza Strip, where disruptions to health and water systems are raising the risk of disease outbreaks. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) on Thursday warned of the inevitable spread of waterborne illnesses such as cholera and typhoid, caused by contaminated water sources and a lack of sanitation. Currently, 95 percent of the population in Gaza has no access to safe water, while 64 percent of primary health facilities have shut down, IRC warns, as Israel conducts a lethal bombing campaign.

So, a few things this article doesn't get into: cholera is relatively simple to treat if you have oral rehydration solution (somewhat similar to Gatorade) and, in more severe cases prevalent amongst the young and elderly, IV rehydration. You don't even need to bottle the stuff, you can make tiny packets of it to stir into potable water.

But the Israeli military is not allowing the water and sewage treatment plants to operate- what extremely limited fuel it permits to enter the Gaza Strip appears to be diverted from these critical facilities. The amount of potable water available in Gaza is estimated to be well below the minimum threshold a healthy human being needs- let alone what anyone would need to rehydrate themselves.

So: deaths from Cholera and other diseases caused by close quarters and lack of clean water could in the coming weeks equal or surpass the number caused by bullets and bombs, if the basic right to clean water is not restored.

israel will do gruesome shit like this all the time while liberals will disqualify the entire palestine movement as antisemitic and not worth supporting bc they saw one video of a palestinian call the people bombing and invading them jews instead of zionists

one of my current frustrations right now is the knowledge that because there is such third-world levels of censorship in US and western media all of the usual avenues of "trustworthy" sources are nigh unusable, and so in the war of disinformation and misinformation you do have to rely on tweets, on-the-ground NGOs, aljazeera, primary sources, your odd substack, largely because it takes traditional western media approximately 8 months to 10 years to put together a comprehensive report before they'll admit the idf lied or acknowledge palestinian suffering

like right now we're in a place where no outlet wants to admit the idf deliberately targets civilians, even though they are killing journalists and doctors alongside their entire families, targeting bakeries, water tanks, solar panels, hospitals, ambulances, and covoys of aid, all of which depict a picture of genocide and align perfectly with all the genocidal statements israeli politicians have already made

and so no outlet wants to admit that the ground invasion is looking closer and closer to a systemic massacre, and nobody wants to admit that the only thing standing between palestinian civilians and their impending and merciless death is a group they have designated as terrorists

everyone is writing about how hamas should release hostages, about how hamas should surrender, about how israel will save palestinians (however many are left after the airstrikes) from hamas, about a potential peace

but nobody is writing about the time when israel negotiated for the PLO (then also designated a terrorist group) to disarm and leave lebanon, only to break the diplomatic agreements and orchestrate a massacre so bloody of an undefended refugee camp that even americans were horrified

a hundred years of war on palestine - rashid khalidi

the israelis & americans who greenlit and orchestrated this massacre received no consequences and two of them went on to become the prime ministers of israel

nobody is writing about the on the record statements from israeli soldiers in 2014 from operation protective edge where they admitted they destroyed houses for destruction's sake, were not asked to check if these were civilians before shooting, and did not care whether they were. anyone found in a zone they had warned to "clear" was assumed to be a terrorist.

all of north gaza is currently designated an area to be cleared. it includes hospitals that cannot be evacuated, elderly and disabled people who cannot evacuate, and the doctors and medical staff who stayed behind to help them and refused to leave

nobody is writing about how israel actually increases the levels of violence up until the last second before a ceasefire

nobody is writing about how israel has violated more ceasefires than hamas anyway, that they have violated ceasefires, betrayed agreements, broken un resolutions, ignored international law all in the pursuit of killing a few more palestinians and are unlikely to stop now

no outlet is really talking about the fact that asking for a ceasefire has become politically fraught when it was already rock bottom

no outlet is really talking about how palestinian death has become easier and more politically expedient to justify than palestinian life

but im sure they will when it's far too late, as they always do

i can understand the reasons someone would want to vote for biden in 2024, but even from a cold utilitarian standpoint, you have to realize that means you will vote for them no matter what. And if you know that, they know that. I mean, they already know that. That's why they don't listen to you lol. Youre a chump, they think its funny. It is funny. I think its funny too. Have u noticed how no one talks about pushing biden left anymore? He hasn't even really done anything to protect lgbt people, or women, or minorities. If there is a difference over republicans on that, it's pretty small. It shouldn't be, but it is. So, you can say, well, even if its only 1% better, isn't that worth it? Maybe that'd be true, if it was zero-cost, that there's no drawback to voting. And that's probably how they see it, but you're making a transaction. You, as an individual representative of public will, are sanctioning their actions. You are signing a contract, you are shaping and enforcing norms. You can't push anyone to the left, but you're being dragged to the right. You can say YOU'RE not right wing, you're really left wing. But what makes you left wing? Ephemeral things, things you believe, your sense of identity, where you fall on hypothetical ethical questions, abstractions. But, what are your real political actions? You're voting for a right wing candidate in an extremely culturally sick hyperimperalist nation, in an election between two right wing parties (on the policy that matters, not the set dressing). You're in a playpen to live out a fantasy political identity online, while your actual political actions reinforce and support the system. You ensure it runs smoothly. You're not a threat. You call yourself radicalized but you've been neutralized before you even knew how you felt about anything.

I'm not pretending abstaining from voting will fix this. And it won't make your hands cleaner either. But if you feel disgusted, don't let some DNC ghoul (or someone whose let social media ops turn them into a DNC ghoul while thinking its their own idea) convince you that you need to push that down and vote because its the right thing to do. If you wanted to vote, you would vote. Theyre not giving you anything to vote for. Maybe you were naive in 2020, maybe you were just an optimist hoping against hope, you'd give Biden a chance. It can't be worse than Trump, right? But where are you now? Even as a cynic and a pessimist- an annoyingly jaded person- it's impressed me how bad he is. That he won't even pretend more. So some of you have to be, like, reeling right? Like you guys are really nothing to him, because he knows you don't have a choice. Just... pure empire, there's barely even a person there. And you might actually vote for him again hahahaha. At that point, what are you doing? I mean if you're a lib, sure, whatever, that's the true face of liberalism, embrace it. But if you're like pretending to be a communist, or call yourself an anti-imperialist or something. Like, cmon. Get real. Pick a side
