Hi! Sorry I’m not around, I haven’t even looked at tumblr in forever. My eldest has started school now and that’s very hectic. I also have a second daughter now, she’s 5 months old and just starting to crawl.
I’m also playing more games on my ps4 and switch since they’re easier to use while feeding a baby and I never got around to replacing my laptop anyway.
Sorry the code is gone now. Anyway I’ll try to catch up with posts, but I’m pretty busy irl these days…one day I’ll be back I’m sure. I had sims 2 cravings the other day and I’ve been thinking up new business lot ideas and writing up story scenes and stuff, but we’ll see I guess

Hey guys!! I am actually looking into getting a new laptop (finally). I can’t get a pc, we just don’t have the space for it anywhere. Spoiler: Our current office is being transformed into a nursery for baby 2!
So, any tips on a good laptop for the sims 2 specifically? I have a lot of other games on steam that I have never played because of my laptop being 8 years old now, but tbh, I’m happier playing the majority of those games on ps4/5 or switch anyway....Yeah, anyway, anyone who plays sims 2 on a laptop, with a good chunk of cc, as well as using various shader mods (water, skyfix, animated clouds, lit up deco, etc) please recommend me a good laptop.
My current/broken down laptop is a hp pavillion and worked great with the sims 2 with all these extra mods plus 12gb+ cc (highest was 18gb!) It took a long time to load up, but I could deal with that.

Story Progression Mod - Open Beta!
So here it is! What I’ve been working on for the past few months!
This mod attempts to add Story Progression into The Sims 2, kind of like in The Sims 3.
Current features include:
Aging: Inactive Sims will age up and die of old age.
Job Progression: Unemployed adult Sims will get jobs based on their interests and personality and progress in those jobs.
Relationship Progression: Inactive Sims will make friends, get in romantic relationships, get engaged and eventually married.
Pregnancies: Inactive Sims will get pregnant!
University Progression: Inactive Sims will go to university, pick majors based on their personality and interests and graduate.
Gender Preference: Inactive Sims will roll gender preferences.
Aspiration Progression: Inactive Sims will have varying levels of aspiration score.
A couple screenshots of just a couple of the features in the mod:

Keep in mind that this is in Open Beta, all features of the mod are a work in progress and they might not make the most sense or be the most stable.
Oh my gosh! I’m a control freak when it comes to playing my town, but…if there is some way to make this affect townies/npcs only I would love that. I love my townies to have their own lives and families. I don’t love having to add said townies to my rotation 😂
Okay I’ve been lurking on the discord and there is indeed a pie menu that allows you to disable story progression per sim or family, as well as aging per sim or family!! Can’t wait to actually play with this and see my townies getting married and having families in the background...and actually moving into the empty houses that I pretend belong to townies ha ha!!

Does anyone else have the instinct to assign their sim a specific color for all their clothing? It’s really frustrating that I want to do this instinctively to the point that it causes me some mental distress to allow Don to wear green sleepwear when purple is his color.
I really, really try not to do this, but yes. Lots of my sims have specific colours. And specific styles too (but that’s more realistic).
Darren, Wendy and Niamh all wear blue.
Kate wears red, but more autumnal style, while Bailey wears tight red dresses.
Halle Anne wears pastels and floaty, comfy clothes, specifically purple.
Ramona and Daisy both wear red too. Ramona’s style is more edgy, while Daisy likes shirts, leggings and boots.
Kitty wears yellow. Brian wears black. Jay wears plaid shirts. The twins both wear red, Logan’s style is sloppy hippy, while Fitz prefers a preppy look.
There are probably tons more that I haven’t even noticed too, but my sims have favourite colours, so that and their personality help me decide what they wear.

It’s my daughter’s 4th (!) birthday today and she’s been bought her first doll, a singing Elsa doll (thanks grandma 😒) and the dress on it is so plasticky and stiff. So I really want to find a replacement for it or make a replacement for it maybe?

Hi Anon, I love those shorts too. They never got quite as popular as my other 4t2 shorts so I appreciate the love.
I did originally plan to put some flip flops on them, but I got distracted with other projects and never got around to them.
Unfortunately I don’t have a working computer, but I’m very happy for other people to mess around with my cc (I encourage it, as I’m sure I’ve made tons of mistakes), so please make a request somewhere. I suggest Garden of shadows. I really hope you get the shorts/shoes combo you want and I will also be happy with more options

Argh!! Thank you for letting me know. Unfortunately I can’t fix it anytime soon because I don’t have a working computer, and I’m not planning on getting one anytime soon.
At least I can let other people know that there is an issue with the texture.
Try asking for a fix on GoS, the people there are friendly and it should be a quick fix. (I suspect I don’t have a blank texture in the top png, and accidentally left the texture of whatever shirt I cloned there instead)
